World of Warcraft and Discord are partnering to give players a special in-game item simply for having Discord running while they play. Between now and February 2nd, World of Warcraft players can earn a bakery-themed backpack cosmetic that any of their characters can use.
With a lot already happening in World of Warcraft, players have a new event to enjoy. On January 27th, the game kicked off Twilight Ascension, a pre-launch event for the upcoming Midnight expansion. Even though Twilight Ascension only runs until Midnight launches on March 2nd, players can earn powerful new weapons and armor to improve their characters. Those who enjoy decorating player housing can also get exclusive cosmetic items, plus a cool mount called the Retrained Skyrazor and some adorable companion pets. The story within Twilight Ascension also gives players a sneak peek at what’s coming in the Midnight expansion.
World of Warcraft Players Can Earn a New Item Just By Having Discord Open
In addition to the pre-expansion event for World of Warcraft, Blizzard is offering a special reward simply for having the Discord app open on your computer. From now until February 2nd, players can complete a Discord Quest to earn the “Piping Hot Portable Bakery” – a unique backpack decorated with bread and baking tools. To get it, just accept the Quest in the Discord desktop app and play World of Warcraft for at least 15 minutes. A progress bar will fill up in the Discord Quest menu as you play.
I just finished the Discord quest, and I got a Battle.net code! Now I can redeem it in the Battle.net app to get this awesome bread-filled backpack for World of Warcraft. It’ll be available on all my characters on the same account, which is great! The code doesn’t expire until March 4, 2026, so I have plenty of time. Just a heads-up, though – this Piping Hot Portable Bakery is only for the regular version of World of Warcraft, not the Classic modes. And since they lowered transmog prices after listening to player feedback, it shouldn’t cost a fortune to change my cloak into this bread basket! If it doesn’t show up in my collection right away, I’ve heard a quick log-out and back in usually does the trick.
World of Warcraft’s Pre-Expansion Schedule is Packed
Beyond the Discord Quest, exciting things are happening in World of Warcraft later this month. Blizzard announced a “State of Azeroth” presentation on January 29th at noon Eastern time, where senior game director Ion Hazzikostas and executive producer Holly Longdale will share plans for World of Warcraft – including the Midnight expansion and all Classic versions of the game – throughout 2026. While the release date for Midnight is already set for March, the future of WoW Classic remains a mystery. Viewers of the State of Azeroth broadcast can also earn a unique item for their in-game housing. Blizzard has hinted at surprises, though fans are still speculating about a potential “Classic+” game mode. Tune in to learn more!
To celebrate the upcoming expansion, World of Warcraft is partnering with Razer to give away rare in-game items like the Iron Skyreaver and Coral-Stalker Waveray. The giveaway ends on Saturday, January 31st. With the Midnight expansion just around the corner and several events already planned, it will be interesting to see what else World of Warcraft has in store for its fans.
