I’m so excited! World of Warcraft just started its Love Is in the Air event for 2026, and it looks amazing! This year, they’ve added a beautiful Spring Butterfly mount, a cool new outfit, and some awesome weapons as rewards. You can earn them by tackling the Crown Chemical Co. instance during the event, or by trading in the special event currency. I can’t wait to jump in and start collecting everything!
The “Love Is in the Air” event in World of Warcraft is the game’s version of Valentine’s Day. It was updated significantly in 2024 with a new central location, quests you can do multiple times, and a special currency called Love Tokens.

The Love Is in the Air event is back in World of Warcraft with new collectibles! Players can now get the Spring Butterfly Skyriding mount, the Ornaments of the Spring Butterfly outfit, and matching weapons like swords, bows, wands, maces, and polearms. The event runs until February 23rd, giving you two weeks to earn these special rewards.
Image via Blizzard Okay, so getting the Spring Butterfly mount is kinda rare. It’s a small chance drop from the first Epic Heart-Shaped Box you get each day during the World of Warcraft Love is in the Air event – you only get one try per account, though. But the rest of the Spring Butterfly outfit – like the armor and weapons – you can actually buy with Love Tokens from Kiera Torres or Lythianne Morningspear. So you gotta farm those tokens if you want the full look!

You can earn Love Tokens by participating in most holiday events, such as completing daily quests, exploring the Crown Chemical Co., and following the “I Smell Trouble” questline. Because Love Tokens are Warbound, it’s a good strategy to collect them with several characters.
The Spring Butterfly cosmetics are simply color variations of items many players likely already own. The Ruby and Pearlescent Butterfly mounts, along with their corresponding outfits, were available in the World of Warcraft Trading Post in March 2025. Data miners have also found information about a fourth, Midnight Butterfly mount, though it hasn’t appeared in the game yet. Considering its name, it’s expected to be released at the Trading Post when the Midnight expansion launches.
Image via Blizzard Along with the new rewards, many popular items from previous years are back this year! You can once again get the Love Witch’s Broom, the mount from last year’s Love Is in the Air event in World of Warcraft, and the very rare X-45 Heartbreaker. Plus, the event offers lots of achievements to unlock, and many of them require using toys or items you can buy from special event vendors.
