Even though the full player housing system won’t be available in World of Warcraft until the Midnight expansion launches, Blizzard has confirmed that players will be able to start decorating and collecting furniture sooner. Players who pre-order Midnight will get early access to these features with the 11.2.7 update on December 2nd.
A major update coming in World of Warcraft: Midnight includes a highly requested feature: player housing. While games like Final Fantasy 14 and The Elder Scrolls Online have offered this for a while, World of Warcraft is now letting players create personal homes in the game world for both Alliance and Horde characters. Players will be able to decorate with items earned from raids, purchased from vendors, or crafted through professions. Importantly, your home will stay accessible even if you temporarily stop playing.
World of Warcraft Shares What Players Can Do During Housing Early Access
As a huge *World of Warcraft* fan, I was so excited to hear about player housing! Blizzard just gave us a bunch more details, and it sounds amazing. Starting December 2nd with Patch 11.2.7, we’ll finally be able to get our own places! If you’ve pre-ordered *Midnight*, you’ll even get early access to start building and decorating before the expansion fully launches in 2026. Everyone else will automatically get a quest to learn the ropes, and we’ll be able to create neighborhoods and fill them with furniture we earn through professions or find in old raids. Even if you don’t have *Midnight* yet, you can still check out what others are building and collect decorations – you just won’t be able to own a house until you get the expansion.
Certain features and activities won’t be available until the release of *Midnight* in 2026. Blizzard hasn’t announced a specific date for *Midnight* yet, so players will need to stay tuned for updates. However, the next update to *World of Warcraft* – Patch 11.2.7, called The Warning – will offer new content beyond just these upcoming features. This patch will begin the next phase of the Worldsoul Saga’s story, and players will join Arator, the son of Turalyon and Alleria Windrunner, on a quest that sets the stage for *Midnight*.
The 11.2.7 update for *World of Warcraft* brings new Pandaren Heritage Armor, the popular Brawler’s Guild is back, and a new Turbulent Timeways event is available. With early access to player housing and the ongoing Legion Remix, players will have lots to do during the holidays.
