World of Warcraft Reveals What Happens to Legion Remix Characters After the Event

The current in-game event, World of Warcraft: Legion Remix, is ending soon. Blizzard has explained how your characters will transition with the upcoming Midnight update. Players are encouraged to log in to their Legion Remix characters beforehand to get them ready, and they’ll also earn a new World of Warcraft achievement for doing so.

Legion Remix was a special, temporary game mode available from October 7, 2025. It let players quickly experience the popular Legion expansion, easily earn unique cosmetic items, level up their World of Warcraft characters faster than usual, and unlock lots of achievements. Unfortunately, the event is ending with the release of the WoW: Midnight Pre-Expansion Update on January 20th.

What Happens to WoW: Legion Remix Characters After the Event?

Blizzard has shared more information about what will happen to characters created in the Legion Remix once it ends. Players will be able to keep their characters and names, which will be moved to the regular World of Warcraft game. However, certain items and progress will not transfer and will be removed.

  • Remix quests, including Infinite Research dailies
  • Remix items, including bags, summoning scrolls, and reputation tokens
  • Remix currencies, including Bronze used to buy rewards during the World of Warcraft event
  • Remix gear, which will be replaced by a full set of item level 102 gear
    • This gear is the strength of 655 gear before the Midnight item level squish
    • Lower-level characters will have their gear scaled down appropriately

That said, plenty of things will be kept when transferring as well, including:

  • All gold earned during the event, plus an additional 2,000
  • All Legion currencies, including Veiled Argunite and Order Resources
  • All obtained achievements and reputations
  • All non-Remix items and quests, including obtained Artifacts and Legion campaign progress
  • A full set of 30-slot bags and a 26-slot reagent bag

Your hotbars and talent builds will be reset, particularly because the upcoming WoW: Midnight update includes significant changes to character classes.

After the transfer process finishes, your characters will play exactly as they did before, without any restrictions related to being Timerunners. However, to play characters at level 70 or higher, you’ll need to own the War Within expansion, as is standard. The WoW: Midnight pre-expansion update will launch on the same day as the character transfers, and the Twilight Ascension pre-patch event will begin a week later, giving you a chance to get some gear to prepare for the new expansion.

World of Warcraft: Legion Remix Isn’t Over Quite Yet

The Legion Remix event is still running for a few more days, and World of Warcraft is adding some extra excitement before it ends! Players who log in now until the event finishes can earn the “Cloudy With a Chance of Infernals” achievement and experience the fun. The strange anomaly over Dalaran has grown, making the final-phase enemies—now called Infernals of the End Times—appear much more often. Plus, all characters will receive a buff that increases movement speed by 50%.

Before the Legion Remix event ends, make sure to use all your Bronze currency. Focus on buying items you can only get during the event, like the Violet Spellwing mount or rare World of Warcraft items such as the Nightmare and Chronos Weapon Enchantment Illusions. If you’ve already purchased everything you want, consider buying extra copies of the event-specific housing decorations. These will still be available from Val’zuun in Dalaran after the event, but they’ll be much more expensive, requiring a lot of Order Resources and Veiled Argunite. So, Legion Remix is the best time to get them while they’re affordable.
