The popular, but controversial, Trader’s Gilded Brutosaur mount is back in the World of Warcraft in-game shop. Players can purchase it now until January 5th, but it comes with a hefty price tag of $90.
To celebrate its 20th anniversary last year, World of Warcraft introduced the Trader’s Gilded Brutosaur, a special mount available for purchase in the game’s store. It cost a hefty $90 and included a mailbox and auctioneer. While the high price drew criticism from players, it quickly became the best-selling item in the store, reportedly earning Blizzard around $15 million during its initial release.
$90 Trader’s Gilded Brutosaur Back in WoW Until January 5
The popular, but often debated, Brutosaur mount is back in the World of Warcraft in-game shop for a limited time. Following hints in the game’s alpha test, players can now purchase the Trader’s Gilded Brutosaur until January 5th. It’s available for $90, just like last year, and is likely to cause some discussion among players as it reappears in the game.
Players who want the Trader’s Gilded Brutosaur but don’t have enough real money can buy it using gold earned in the game through WoW Tokens. These tokens currently cost around 360,000 gold each (which is equivalent to $20 in Battle.net balance, though prices change depending on the region). This means the Brutosaur can be purchased for approximately 1,300,000 gold – less than the previous version, the Mighty Caravan Brutosaur, which cost five million gold before it was removed in the Shadowlands expansion. However, because of this option, the price of WoW Tokens is likely to increase, so players hoping to buy the mount with gold should do so quickly.
Surprisingly, the Trader’s Gilded Brutosaur costs the same amount as the Epic Edition of World of Warcraft: Midnight. This premium edition gives fans access to the new expansion when it launches, plus exclusive in-game items like character outfits, pets, flying mounts, and a special currency called Trader’s Tender. It also includes access to the World of Warcraft: Midnight beta, letting players try the expansion early.
As a longtime fan, I’m so excited to see World of Warcraft celebrating 21 years! The best part is there’s a ton to do in-game to mark the occasion, and you don’t have to spend any money. They’ve brought back a lot of the fun stuff from last year’s anniversary, and added some new goodies too, like a cool new transmog set called the Loyal Watchman and a title – Khaz Algar Enthusiast. We’ve got until December 7th to enjoy everything, and then Patch 11.2.7 and early access to Housing are coming on December 2nd, right as the event wraps up! It’s going to be a great month for WoW players.
