Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Dev Admits Performance Issues ‘Should Never Have Occurred’

Today, we announced that Wuchang: Fallen Feathers has attracted over 114,000 simultaneous players on Steam, marking one of the most successful launches on this platform for a Soulslike game developed by a studio other than FromSoftware to date.

Despite predominantly unfavorable feedback on Steam, this milestone is still achieved as players express concerns about poor performance, a dull main character, unsmooth combat, and overall gameplay. At the moment, only 22% of the over 9,300 reviews left are positive.

Software developer Leenzee recently addressed the current issues, acknowledging that such problems should not have taken place. They expressed sincere apologies for the trouble and unpleasant gaming experiences some users are experiencing at present.

As a member of the game dev team, I’m proud to say that our game runs smoothly within the recommended specs, but we’re constantly striving for even better performance through optimization. We’ve got an update in the works and can’t wait to share it with you all as soon as it’s ready!

Now, if you’re experiencing any persistent issues, don’t sweat it – just reach out to our publishers over at 505 Games by submitting a ticket. Or, you could tinker around with your settings for a smoother gaming experience. Stay tuned, gamers!

That’s not the only issue the developer is responding to, either.

As a devoted admirer, I’d like to share that I’ve noticed some unusual pricing issues in certain areas. Rest assured, we’re actively collaborating with Steam to rectify these pricing inconsistencies, aiming to bring back the accurate prices soon. Additionally, regarding the pre-order reward error, we’re diligently working on resolving it as well. Stay tuned for updates!

Leenzee explained that the main problem lies in an error within the reward system for both Standard and Deluxe editions, leading to incorrect items being distributed to players. He added that they are working to rectify this problem in the next update. As a gesture of goodwill, he mentioned that anyone who purchases the game on Steam will receive a complimentary digital copy of the original soundtrack. Furthermore, they plan to process refunds for those who had previously purchased the soundtrack through Steam.

Those who purchase the deluxe edition from now on will additionally get an “exclusive new outfit,” but remember, it might require a bit of patience as this process could take some time.

We’re deeply focused on swiftly addressing and solving these matters. Our top priority is ensuring these problems get fixed right away so that your gaming experience remains optimal.
