WWE 2K25 Can’t Miss the Chance for One Obvious TNA Collaboration

Each year, the WWE 2K series of games serves as a platform to highlight performers who have made an impact on WWE broadcasting, while also paying tribute to iconic wrestling figures. The upcoming release, WWE 2K25, maintains this tradition by upgrading its gameplay and introducing a fresh, immersive environment called The Island. In the coming months, additional content packs (DLCs) for WWE 2K25 will be released, except for one popular character – Joe Hendry – who fans have been eagerly anticipating.

At present, Joe Hendry is contracted with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) and holds the TNA World Championship title. Through an alliance with his home promotion, he also features in WWE and NXT events, and recently made his debut at the Royal Rumble event in February. The appeal of Hendry lies in his captivating charm, engaging character, and viral entrance theme “I Believe in Joe Hendry.” His popularity has grown significantly across both promotions. Unfortunately, he was not included in the roster for WWE 2K25, which left many fans disheartened.

WWE 2K25 Still Has Time to Add Joe Hendry

Back in the early part of this year, I was thrilled to hear that WWE had struck a multi-year deal with TNA. As a fan, I’m excited about the prospect of seeing talent from both promotions cross paths, offering them a wider platform for exposure. We’ve already witnessed this collaboration with TNA stars like Hendry and Moose stepping into the ring on NXT, WWE’s developmental brand, and WWE talents Cora Jade and Wes Lee showcasing their skills in TNA. This partnership follows a string of surprise appearances by TNA stars on WWE and NXT shows, through PPV events. I can hardly wait to see what other crossover opportunities this collaboration will bring!

Fans eagerly anticipated that with WWE and TNA collaborating, WWE 2K25 would showcase top TNA stars such as Hendry, who has been a crowd favorite in both WWE and NXT since last year due to his captivating promos and vignettes, along with notable matches against wrestlers like Ethan Page and Joe Coffey. However, despite his first appearance at the Royal Rumble raising many fans’ hopes that he might be included in WWE 2K25, regrettably, Hendry is not part of the initial roster or any planned downloadable content.

There’s a chance that the agreement between the two companies doesn’t permit the appearance of TNA stars in WWE 2K25. However, Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin, and Jordynne Grace will be featured in future DLC packs for WWE 2K25 as they have officially joined WWE. At this point, Hendry is still a guest on both WWE and NXT TV, so it’s unlikely his image can be used in the game due to rights issues. However, if WWE and TNA reach an agreement at the last minute to include Hendry in the DLC for WWE 2K25, it could happen because of his popularity and marketability.

Currently, Hendry has shared a video hinting at his upcoming appearance in an unspecified video game, with plans for a future announcement. Given his past mentions of wanting to contribute to the soundtrack of Grand Theft Auto 6 and becoming a character in Fortnite, it’s plausible that it could be one of these games. However, WWE 2K25 is another possibility that fans are speculating about. Interestingly, in his teaser video, an advertisement for PUBG Mobile appears on a digital billboard behind him. While this might just be a coincidence, it would add an exciting Easter egg to the mix if a collaboration between Hendry and PUBG Mobile were to be confirmed.

Although it’s uncertain whether Joe Hendry will be included in WWE 2K25, it doesn’t necessarily mean his dream of being in a WWE video game is unattainable. Given that WWE and TNA have been partners for several years, there’s potential for this alliance to extend into other areas, such as video games, which could open doors for Hendry in the future. It’s possible that he might appear in WWE 2K26, regardless of whether he remains with TNA or transitions to WWE. As long as people continue to support Joe Hendry, his opportunities could go beyond wrestling in the ring and extend into other aspects of the industry.
