This expansion introduces two rising stars from NXT and a duo of former tag team champions into the game’s expansive roster. Players now have the chance to try out Stephanie Vaquer, Giulia, and the Motor City Machine Guns. Yet, the fifth enigmatic wrestler within the pack remains undisclosed.
In the world of WWE 2K25, the initial lineup of characters is the largest the series has ever boasted, featuring hundreds of wrestlers spanning both past and present eras. Moreover, players have the exciting opportunity to uncover iconic original MyRISE figures. To top it off, over 20 additional wrestlers are planned for release in upcoming DLC expansions.
The New Wave Downloadable Content (DLC) package perfectly coincided with the anticipated release schedule for WWE 2K25, which was announced in March, and true to its title, it introduces four fresh superstars who have recently debuted on the main roster. The Motor City Machine Guns, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, surprised the SmackDown audience in October 2024 by clinching the WWE Tag Team Championship in their second appearance. Meanwhile, the two female wrestlers from the Women’s Division, who are officially recognized on the NXT brand at present, made their RAW debuts in April. Notably, current NXT Women’s Champion Vaquer issued a challenge to Iyo Sky, which ended prematurely due to interference from Giulia during the match.

The game’s official Twitter account hinted that this mystery guest would be revealed in the coming weeks, leaving fans wondering when exactly they will see or play with this new addition to the game’s roster. On the other hand, the next DLC pack, the Dunk and Destruction Pack, is scheduled for release on June 25 and includes five more characters, including three NBA players whose identities remain a secret. Moreover, another celebrity guest is expected in the Fearless Pack, due out in July.
Alongside the four fresh wrestlers, the recent downloadable content package introduces over 40 fresh moves and taunts for these wrestlers. Players can also incorporate these new actions into their custom Create-a-Superstar characters or other game characters within the roster. Additionally, the release of this DLC serves as a platform to announce that Chapter 2 of WWE 2K25‘s The Island is on the horizon, offering gamers additional content to delve into with the new game mode.
