The highly anticipated WWE 2K25 has been released on Switch 2, marking a new milestone for the renowned wrestling game series. Preview footage suggests that the visuals, particularly wrestler and arena designs, are impressive, mirroring the action-packed experience of its console counterpart. Yet, it seems to lack an element that fans have grown accustomed to in wrestling games.
Previously, I’ve found that Switch versions of video games often didn’t live up to their console counterparts in terms of quality. But with gaming powerhouses like WWE 2K25 on the new and improved Switch 2, this issue seems to be a thing of the past. Although it doesn’t come with a physical cartridge, the game provides an engaging wrestling experience that lets me connect with fellow fans through crossplay. However, the absence of Community Creations in the Switch 2 version might dampen its long-term appeal.
WWE 2K25 Skipping Community Creations on the Switch 2 Is a Missed Opportunity
WWE games are renowned for offering players the opportunity to design their own wrestlers, including personalizing their character’s appearance and move set. As the games progressed in complexity, the introduction of face scans in WWE 2K series enabled fans to create wrestlers that resemble them or fashion their own versions of superstars not part of the roster. This provides a platform for players to express their creativity and share their creations with others via the Community Creations gallery.
While it is possible to exchange Community Creations for WWE 2K25 across the same console generation (such as between PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S), users on older platforms like Xbox One, Steam, and PlayStation 4 are unable to participate in this feature. Unfortunately, the Switch 2 version has even more restrictions, as it does not support image uploader-based creations from any platform and cannot upload its own content either.
WWE 2K25 Community Creations Crossplay Rules
- Xbox One, Steam, and PlayStation 4 users can share Community Creations
- PlayStation 5 and Xbox X|S users can share Community Creations
- Xbox One, Steam, and PlayStation 4 Community Creations are not accessible on PlayStation 5 and Xbox X|S, and vice versa.
- Switch 2 players cannot access Community Creations from any of the platforms mentioned above, nor are they able to upload customized work.
Given the massive popularity of CAWs (Custom Athletes Wrestling) in WWE 2K25 and its predecessors, it’s truly regrettable that Switch 2 gamers won’t be able to leverage Community Creations from other platforms. However, players can still design their unique wrestlers for use across various match types in WWE 2K25. It’s just a bit more effort for console users who might have wanted to play the game on their new handheld device as well. On a positive note, t New Horizons. For now, unfortunately, there are no Community Creations available, so players must create custom wrestlers from scratch for their matches.
Even Without Custom Creations, WWE 2K25 on Switch 2 Can Still Be Fun For Fans
Instead of just focusing on creating custom wrestlers, some gamers prefer using their favorite pre-existing superstars in different matches offered by WWE 2K25. This latest installment boasts the largest roster yet, featuring playable characters that span from current stars to legendary icons. The roster keeps expanding with the addition of more superstars and special guests through the game’s DLC, ensuring players have an abundance of options when it comes to accessing official WWE employees.
On the Switch 2, enjoying the game “WWE 2K25” with friends in person has become more convenient due to its compact size and user-friendly design. Whether you utilize Community Creations from other platforms or not, there are new ways to engage with the game alongside fellow enthusiasts, making it a reason for celebration!
