Okay, so 2K just dropped some huge news for WWE 2K26 – they’re doing an Attitude Era Edition! As a long-time fan, I’m seriously hyped about this. 2K always does a good job of bringing back legends in their games, and last year’s 2K25 had Roman Reigns on the cover and a special Undertaker edition, which was awesome. But honestly, everyone talks about the Attitude Era being the absolute best time for WWE, and I totally agree. It’s cool to see 2K focusing on that period and bringing back all those iconic superstars from the late 90s and early 2000s. I can’t wait!

Many fans consider the Attitude Era a golden age for WWE, launching the careers of superstars like Stone Cold Steve Austin, Triple H, and The Rock. This era stood out for its edgier, more adult-oriented content, featuring intense matches and larger-than-life personalities. WWE 2K26 Is Going Back to the Attitude Era

On Friday, 2K revealed a special “Attitude Era Edition” of WWE 2K26 with a new trailer. This edition will highlight iconic WWE stars from the late 90s and early 2000s, like Kane, The Undertaker, Trish Stratus, and Lita. While the trailer didn’t show off any specific Attitude Era content, similar to last year’s WWE 2K25 Deadman Edition, this version will likely include exclusive bonuses. WWE 2K26 is scheduled for release in March, and pre-orders will begin on January 30th.

Although details haven’t been officially announced, the trailer for WWE 2K26 suggests exciting content will be included in the Attitude Era Edition. The trailer prominently featured the infamous 1998 Hell in a Cell match between The Undertaker and Mankind, leading many to believe players will be able to relive this classic moment. “Stone Cold” Steve Austin was also a major focus, indicating he’ll likely have special in-game content. Fans have also noticed that the game’s logo may hint at the return of the Hardcore Championship.

WE 2K26 Has Plenty of Avenues to Honor the Attitude Era

With plans to feature the exciting Attitude Era, WWE 2K26 can look to previous games for ideas. WWE 13 from 2012 dedicated a whole game mode to the era, recreating its most famous storylines. WWE 2K16 also highlighted the period by focusing on the career of “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. Building on WWE 2K25, which already included many stars from that time, the new game could also add some lesser-known wrestlers to the mix.

Fans are getting excited about WWE 2K26, and it looks like there’s a lot to look forward to beyond just the Attitude Era content. Leaks indicate a new Showcase mode will highlight the career of popular wrestler CM Punk, focusing on his most iconic moments. The game has already announced a diverse roster of wrestlers, including established stars like Kofi Kingston and Asuka, as well as newer faces like Myles Borne and Zaria.
