WWE 2K26 is updating some of the most popular game modes in major ways.
With WWE Royal Rumble weekend here, marketing for the new WWE 2K26 video game is ramping up. A recent report from The Takedown on Sports Illustrated details several improvements coming to the game’s modes.
Beyond confirming updates previously shared by TopMob, we now have more details that WWE video game fans will love, especially regarding how much you can customize the game and how much replayability it offers.
WWE Universe Mode Gets a Draft and More
Since 2010, Universe Mode has been a key feature in WWE video games. This mode gives players the chance to act as a wrestling promoter, booking matches, building storylines between wrestlers, and handling everything from injuries to overall roster management.
WWE 2K26 is leveling up the experience this year! Universe Mode now features a Draft for added realism, and a new Universe Creation Wizard makes customization easier. Expect more intense rivalries with new promo types, and a ‘Watch Show’ mode for fans who prefer a hands-off, simulation-style experience. There’s plenty more to discover too!
MyGM Mode, where you manage a wrestling brand, is getting some updates. You’ll have more options for match types – including mixed-gender and eight-person matches – plus you’ll be able to run more shows each season and face new management challenges.
MyRISE, similar to the MyPLAYER mode in NBA 2K, has been significantly improved. Now, you can continue building your wrestler’s career even after finishing the main storyline. The story itself will be more dynamic this year, with choices you make – like whether to play as a good guy (babyface) or a bad guy (heel) – impacting how the narrative unfolds.
The Island mode will also come to PC for the first time ever.
New Creation Suite Options Spark New Life in WWE 2K26
Beyond those changes, the Creation Suite has been significantly improved. You’ll now have 200 save slots for your created superstars – double the previous amount – giving you tons of space to build and download stars. Plus, Community Creations now lets you use up to 2,000 images, offers more detailed editing of body and face shapes, and allows for two-tone hair colors, giving you even more ways to customize your superstars and arenas.
