WWE 2K26 Roster Could Be Getting Big Upgrade in 2026

A recent online post has led people to believe that WWE 2K26 might include wrestlers from the Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide promotion when it comes out next year. While it’s not confirmed, it looks like WWE is preparing to add some stars from the Mexican wrestling company to the game.

AAA is a Mexican wrestling promotion that began in 1992, known for its focus on ‘luchadores’ – masked wrestlers. In April 2025, WWE bought a majority stake (51%) in AAA, with the entertainment company Fillip owning the remaining 49%. The deal was finalized in August 2025, and WWE has gradually started to feature wrestlers from both promotions as needed. A notable example is Dominik Mysterio, who has become a frequent performer in AAA since the acquisition. He quickly won the AAA Mega Championship in September 2025, making him the first wrestler to simultaneously hold championships in both WWE and AAA. However, despite this increased collaboration, the latest WWE 2K25 video game doesn’t include any wrestlers who are exclusive to AAA.

WWE 2K26 Could Feature AAA Wrestlers, and Here’s Why

A recent post by Adrian Butler, a referee for WWE NXT and producer for AAA, has fans wondering if wrestlers from the AAA promotion will be included in the upcoming WWE 2K26 video game. Butler shared a photo of himself and other AAA referees with the hashtags #wwe2k26 and #LuchaLibreAAA, hinting that the idea is worth considering. While he didn’t confirm anything directly, Butler likely has inside knowledge about the game’s roster. Given that WWE recently acquired AAA, including its wrestlers in WWE 2K26 would make a lot of sense.

A discussion on Reddit about a recent post has fueled excitement about which wrestlers from the AAA promotion might be included in WWE 2K26. Some fans worried that, like previous WWE 2K games featuring NXT wrestlers, the selection could be limited. Others thought it would depend on which AAA wrestlers currently have contracts with WWE. But most fans are optimistic and are already suggesting their favorite AAA stars for the game, with names like Mr. Iguana, La Parka, Psycho Clown, and El Hijo del Vikingo being frequently mentioned as potential additions to WWE 2K26.

Possible AAA Wrestlers in WWE 2K26

  • Dr. Wagner Jr.
  • El Hijo del Vikingo
  • Faby Apache
  • La Parka
  • Lady Flammer
  • Mr. Iguana
  • Psycho Clown

Fans are excited about the possible addition of AAA wrestlers to the WWE 2K series, especially with the recent agreement between WWE and TNA. This deal could mean TNA stars might appear in WWE 2K26 as well, significantly expanding the game’s roster alongside AAA. Whether these additions are successful will depend on how well they’re implemented – for instance, including AAA content in the MyRISE career mode could really enhance the gaming experience.

I’m really hoping to see AAA make it into WWE 2K26! Right now, we just have to wait and see if 2K includes him with the game at launch, or adds him later as downloadable content. We don’t have a firm release date yet, but 2K has said the game is coming out sometime between January and March 2026. Considering how close we are to January and 2K25 came out in March, I’m guessing 2K26 will probably release around the same time.
