Xbox Fan Shows Off Impressive Xbox 360 Collection

One dedicated Xbox enthusiast has amassed an impressive collection of over 1,300 Xbox 360 games, completing the entire library available in North America for that console. Since the original Xbox launched in the early 2000s, Microsoft has become a major force in the gaming world, releasing four generations of home consoles. While the current Xbox Series X/S has sold over 28 million units since November 2020, the Xbox 360 remains Microsoft’s most popular and successful console to date.

Many consider the Xbox 360 to be Microsoft’s best console ever made, largely because it helped popularize online gaming. While online services started with the original Xbox, Xbox Live really took off during the Xbox 360 years, growing from 2 million users in 2005 to over 21 million subscribers by 2010. The console was also known for its popular games, including hits like Halo 3, Gears of War, and Fable 2. Recently, one fan showcased an impressive collection of games for the system.

Xbox Fan Shares Complete Xbox 360 Collection

A Reddit user named uncleseeth recently shared their incredible Xbox 360 collection with fellow gamers. They’ve managed to collect over 1,300 games, completing the entire North American library for the console. This includes the standard 1,256 games, plus various editions and versions. The final game needed to finish the set was Pro Evolution Soccer 18, which their son gifted to them for Christmas.

I was checking out the original post about that incredible Xbox collection, and the poster shared even more cool details in the comments! They said they’ve played around 800 of the 1,300+ games, and actually finished 175 of them on the Xbox 360. Apparently, the most valuable game they own is F1 13 – it’s super rare because the physical copies weren’t released in the US and Canada right away, and it cost them about $250! It’s amazing to think about how it all started, but they said it all began with a Christmas gift back in 2005: Neversoft’s Gun. That’s how the collection began!

The Xbox 360 Built Microsoft into a Gaming Titan

The Xbox 360 was incredibly popular and significantly influenced the direction of Microsoft’s gaming division. It helped launch online gaming with Xbox Live and pioneered digital game stores with the Xbox Marketplace. The console was also an early adopter of achievements, which quickly became a standard feature across the gaming industry. Remarkably, the Xbox 360 continued to receive new games for years after the release of the Xbox One, with support lasting until 2018 – five years after its successor launched.

The Xbox 360 was a high point for Microsoft’s gaming division, and the company hasn’t been able to replicate that success since. The Xbox One sold around 58 million units, significantly fewer than the 360 (by over 25 million) and less than half the number sold by its main rival, the PlayStation 4. The current generation, the Xbox Series X/S, is also trailing behind Sony, having sold about 28 million units compared to the PS5’s much higher total. Many gamers consider the Xbox 360 era to be the best for Microsoft, and with good reason.
