Users of Xbox Game Pass can now enjoy seven more classic titles from the Retro Classics app. Similar to Nintendo and PlayStation, Microsoft is providing a platform for users to revisit old games they might not be able to play otherwise. The service has started off well and the library of Xbox Game Pass Classics continues to grow just a few months after its launch.
In May 2025, Microsoft added Retro Classics to Xbox Game Pass, offering more than 50 classic games from the ’80s and ’90s for free. These games also include some up-to-date features like community challenges and save/reload functionality. Since then, the Retro Classics library has been continually growing, with new games regularly joining the platform.
It appears that Xbox hasn’t publicly announced new titles for its Retro Classics lineup in July 2025, but seven games have mysteriously appeared in the “New Games” section on their app. Among these are “Stake Boardin'” from Atari in 1987 and “Conquests of Camelot: The Search for the Grail,” initially released on DOS in 1990. Additionally, there’s “Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers,” a point-and-click adventure with Tim Curry and Mark Hamill lending their voices to the game, adding a unique touch to its gaming history. Xbox aims to include over 100 games in Retro Classics by year-end 2025, so fans can look forward to more exciting additions!

As a passionate gamer, diving into Retro Classics feels like unearthing long-forgotten treasures from the past. For some of us, these games are fresh and exciting, offering a unique gaming experience that we might not have had before. It’s also a testament to Xbox’s dedication to preserving gaming history, as all seven titles in this collection predate even the original Xbox. The Xbox Game Pass makes it incredibly easy for us to relive these classics, making emulation on old Atari 2600 or running MS-DOS systems the only other options left in the dust of time.
For gamers who aren’t deeply invested in retro games, there’s still some exciting news on the horizon. In July 2025, Microsoft has announced eight additional games set to join Xbox Game Pass during the second half of that month. Among these is the day-one release of Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. However, it’s important to note that only those who have an Ultimate or PC Game Pass subscription will be able to play all these new releases. On the other hand, the Retro Classics games within the Xbox Game Pass are accessible across all membership tiers.
