The popular co-op game Absolum is now available with Xbox Game Pass on all plans except one. This is the 11th game added to the Game Pass library this March and the 49th release for the year 2026.
Absolum is a popular roguelite beat-’em-up that you can play by yourself or with a friend. Developed by DotEmu and Guard Crush Games, it launched in October 2025 to great reviews, earning an 86% average score and a 97% recommendation rate on OpenCritic. Players loved it too, giving it a 90% positive rating on Steam and a 4.8-star average on the PlayStation Store, based on feedback from around 4,000 players. It’s currently unknown how the game is performing on Xbox, as it wasn’t released on Microsoft consoles at launch.
Absolum Joins Xbox Game Pass Alongside Series X Port
The Series X/S version of Absolum is now available, starting March 25th. It’s launching alongside the game’s addition to Xbox and PC Game Pass. Game Pass subscribers, especially those with Premium or Ultimate memberships, already had access to both versions of Absolum. And because Microsoft’s cloud gaming uses Series X hardware, you can now play Absolum through Xbox Cloud Gaming in supported areas.

You can play Absolum by yourself, but it’s designed to be even more fun with a friend. The entire game is available for two-player online or local co-op, where both players share the same screen. Playing with another person unlocks unique team strategies. Absolum, releasing in 2025, also offers lots of accessibility options, letting players adjust the difficulty to suit their skill level. While making a game for everyone can be challenging, the developers, Dotemu, succeeded in making Absolum one of the top-rated co-op games of the year.
Despite Barely Having Any Day-One Games, March 2026 Was Another Huge Month for Xbox Game Pass
Even though March 2026 doesn’t have a huge number of new releases, it’s looking like a great month for Xbox Game Pass. The quality of the 14 games available is really strong, with over a third being major AAA titles like Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Cyberpunk 2077, and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. Beyond those big names, popular indie games such as Disco Elysium and Absolum are also adding a lot of value, offering both great gameplay and a diverse range of experiences.
Even when fewer big new games are released, Xbox Game Pass continues to grow, proving it’s still the best value for gamers. Microsoft has been focusing on this strength, especially after some criticism about a price increase in late 2025. The cost of Game Pass Ultimate went from $19.99 to $29.99, making it the third price increase in three years.
Busy Days Are Ahead for Xbox Game Pass
Xbox Game Pass is getting three new games before the end of March 2026. First up is the city-building game Nova Roma on March 26th. Then, The Long Dark will be added on March 30th, and Resident Evil 7: Biohazard will follow just a day later. This is just the start of a very active period for the Xbox service as we head into spring.

Microsoft is expected to announce the first wave of new games for next month around April 7th in the early afternoon (Eastern Time). Two titles, Barbie Horse Trails and Final Fantasy 4, will be added to the service by then. Looking further ahead, Replaced and Kiln are confirmed to be available on Xbox Game Pass starting in April 2026. Also coming next month is Aphelion, a sci-fi stealth adventure game that’s heavily inspired by the Alien franchise.
