Summary
- Gigantic: Rampage Edition and the console versions of Starbound became playable via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on January 22.
- Both titles have also been added to the Xbox Game Pass Standard library, together with five other games.
The Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription now includes the enhanced version of “Gigantic: Rampage Edition” and the console adaptations of “Starbound”. These two games can also be found in the standard version of Xbox Game Pass, joining five additional titles that have recently been added to the service.
Before September 2024, when Microsoft introduced Xbox Game Pass Standard, any new content added to its library was accessible across all tiers except Core. Since then, day-one releases have been exclusive to XGP Ultimate and PC Game Pass, later becoming available in the Standard tier after a six-month wait.
On January 22nd, the trend of adding new titles to Xbox Game Pass Standard continued, with seven fresh additions. Among these, the enhanced version of “Gigantic: Rampage Edition” and the console versions of “Starbound” are now also included in the top-tier subscription service, known as Ultimate. The other five games – “Flock”, “Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess”, “Magical Delicacy”, “Tchia”, and “The Case of the Golden Idol” – were initially added to Xbox Game Pass back in July 2024. However, due to Microsoft’s introduction of a budget tier for its service, these titles became unavailable for new XGP Standard subscribers, although existing XGP for Console members retained their original plans.

With the exception of the open-world action adventure game Tchia, all games added to Xbox Game Pass on January 22 are playable on both Xbox One and the more advanced Xbox Series X/S consoles. However, it’s worth noting that Tchia is not accessible on the older Xbox One consoles. The newcomer among these releases is Abstraction Games’ MOBA hero shooter Gigantic: Rampage Edition, as the PC version of Starbound, which has been available to both XGP Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers since late 2020, was already added previously.
For the month of January 2025, Microsoft’s subscription service has added five new games to its roster. Kicking off on the 28th are two titles: “Eternal Strands” and “Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap”, with “Eternal Strands” being a day-one release. The following day, January 29th, brings us “Shady Part of Me”. On the 30th, it’s the turn of another day-one title, “Sniper Elite: Resistance”. Closing out the month is yet another day-one release, “Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector”, scheduled for January 31st. However, take note that on this same date, Xbox Game Pass will be parting ways with half a dozen games, including the critically acclaimed action adventure game “Death’s Door” from Acid Nerve.
Starting from February 4th, “Far Cry New Dawn” will be available on all tiers of Xbox Game Pass that are not part of the Core subscription. This marks the beginning of the first wave of games added to the service in February 2025, as Ubisoft’s open-world shooter joins the lineup. It’s also possible that Microsoft will unveil the rest of Wave 1 for February on the same day, as they often announce such releases on Tuesdays.
