Xbox Game Pass has gained a new game on launch day: Dead Static Drive. Plus, another game has become available to subscribers. Normally costing $29.99, Dead Static Drive is the third game added to Xbox Game Pass this November and the 192nd new game added to the service so far this year.
Created by Melbourne studio Reuben Games, Dead Static Drive is a unique experience blending open-world freedom with Lovecraftian horror. Players navigate a terrifying road trip through a twisted, post-apocalyptic version of the 1980s American Southwest. The game’s atmosphere draws inspiration from classic weird fiction authors like T.E.D. Klein, the visual style of photographer William Eggleston, and the films of David Lynch. In terms of gameplay, Dead Static Drive is similar to The Oregon Trail, but with the added threat of terrifying, otherworldly monsters. The story centers around Hearst, who is searching for their parents and trying to uncover the truth behind the world’s collapse.
Dead Static Drive Joins Xbox Game Pass as Sniper Elite: Resistance Reaches Premium Tier
After about ten years in development, the survival horror game Dead Static Drive was released on November 5th for PC, consoles, and Xbox Game Pass. Currently, it’s available on PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate for subscribers. The release happened alongside Sniper Elite: Resistance being added to the Premium tier of Xbox Game Pass. Sniper Elite: Resistance was one of the first games to launch directly into Xbox Game Pass in 2025, initially appearing on January 30th.
When Will Dead Static Drive Come to Xbox Game Pass Premium?
Considering how long it took for Sniper Elite: Resistance to move down from the highest Xbox Game Pass tier to a lower one, we can estimate when Dead Static Drive might become available on the Premium tier. Microsoft has stated that games released on the top-tier Game Pass will be available on lower tiers within a year. We saw this happen with the short-lived Game Pass Standard tier, where some games became available on lower tiers after about six months. Based on this pattern and recent announcements, Dead Static Drive is likely to arrive on Xbox Game Pass Premium sometime between May and November 2026.
Xbox Game Pass is getting ten new games throughout the rest of November 2025, including titles like Whiskerwood, Egging On, Great God Grove, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. More games will be added later this month – look for the next announcement around November 14th.
