I’m so excited! Towerborne is finally fully released! It’s no longer in early access, and it’s available on even more Xbox Game Pass subscriptions starting February 26th. It was a great addition to the February 2026 Game Pass lineup, which already had 20 new games!
Developed by Stoic, the team behind The Banner Saga, and published by Xbox Game Studios, Towerborne has been in early access since late April 2025. This side-scrolling RPG combines fast-paced, combo-based combat with gear upgrades. Players take on the role of Ace, a warrior tasked with protecting the Belfry, the last safe haven for humanity, and exploring the remains of the fallen City of Numbers. You can play Towerborne alone or team up with up to three other players in co-op multiplayer.
Towerborne 1.0 Rounds Out Xbox Game Pass Lineup for the Month
The game Towerborne officially launched on February 26th and became available on Xbox Game Pass Premium. Players with PC Game Pass or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate have been enjoying it since spring 2025. Because it’s published by Xbox Game Studios, Towerborne is likely to remain a permanent part of Microsoft’s subscription service, and could eventually be added to the basic Xbox Game Pass tier alongside other Xbox-made games like Fallout 4, Gears 5, and Halo Wars 2.

The full release of Towerborne is a big update from the early access version. It replaces the optional Job Board with a new Bounty Board and features a completely reworked map that now includes a coastal area. Players can also look forward to new endgame challenges and a revamped difficulty system. This system includes tougher enemies called Vanguards, who strengthen their allies, and a brand new, very challenging difficulty level called Brutal.
Although Towerborne is the last game being fully released this month, it’s not the very last addition to February 2026’s Xbox Game Pass lineup. Final Fantasy 3 and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will both be available starting March 3, which extends the current wave into next month. That date—the first Tuesday of March—is likely when we’ll hear about the games coming in the March 2026 wave. We already know Planet of Lana 2, a sci-fi puzzle platformer, will be available on Game Pass starting March 5.

Xbox Game Pass will add the city-building game Nova Roma on March 26th. It was originally planned for release in January, but was delayed. Looking ahead, Forza Horizon 6 and Beast of Reincarnation are coming to the service on May 19th and August 4th, respectively. Plus, over 20 more games are confirmed to launch directly on Game Pass in 2026, including titles like Awaysis, Gears of War: E-Day, Beastro, Fable, and There Are No Ghosts at the Grand, though specific release dates for those haven’t been announced yet.
