You can now play Barbie Horse Trails with an Xbox Game Pass subscription, available on all three tiers. It’s the first game added to the service in April 2026, and the 53rd addition to Xbox Game Pass this year.
Released in October 2025, Barbie Horse Trails is the newest game from PHL Collective, a developer based in Philadelphia. It’s an open-world adventure where you can create a unique character and fully customize your horse – making it the first modern Barbie game to offer this level of freedom. In this single-player game, you play as a junior ranger at Canterbury Trails Park, spending your time exploring vibrant scenery, taking photos of animals, and personalizing both your character and horse.
Xbox Game Pass Adds Its Second Barbie Game in 10 Months
Starting today, April 2nd, you can play Barbie Horse Trails with an Xbox Game Pass subscription! It’s available on all Game Pass tiers except the basic Essential plan. This is the second Barbie game to come to Xbox Game Pass in under a year, following Barbie Project Friendship which was added in June 2025.
The game Barbie Project Friendship was removed from Xbox Game Pass after just five months. Because it’s published by the same company as the newly released Barbie Horse Trails, that game might not stay on the service for very long either. Luckily, Barbie Horse Trails is a fairly short game – players estimate it takes less than six hours to complete.
Xbox Game Pass Premium Gets One of the Best Games of 2025
Today we’ve added the award-winning game Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 to Xbox Game Pass Premium. This highly praised “Je’RPG” is almost a year old (celebrating its anniversary on April 24th), and some players worried it might be removed from Game Pass soon. However, adding it to Premium confirms it will stay, and shows Microsoft’s plan to eventually bring new game releases to the middle tier of Game Pass. Currently, the main benefit of the Ultimate tier is access to services like EA Play and Ubisoft+.

Xbox Game Pass subscribers should circle April 7th on their calendars! That’s when the classic JRPG Final Fantasy IV will be added to the service, and we also expect to learn the full list of games coming in the first wave of April 2026. But don’t worry, there’s already plenty to look forward to this month! Confirmed releases include Replaced, Hades 2, Vampire Crawlers (a new game from the creators of Vampire Survivors), Kiln, and Aphelion—they’ll be launching in that order.
