Summary
- Xbox Game Pass is losing 7 titles today, April 30.
- The forthcoming departures include EA Sports NHL 23, Have a Nice Death, and Kona 2: Brume.
- Xbox Game Pass is on course to lose 14 games in April 2025—the same amount that it added since the beginning of the month.
On April 30th, Xbox Game Pass is saying goodbye to The Last Case of Benedict Fox and six other games. By the end of this month, a total of 14 titles will have left the Xbox Game Pass library in April 2025.
Generally speaking, Microsoft’s subscription service has a consistent pattern for removing games, with updates to the catalog happening approximately every 15 days. The last such update took place on April 15, where Xbox Game Pass bid farewell to seven titles like Homestead Arcana, Turbo Golf Racing, and Harold Halibut.
Today, April 30th, seven additional games will be removed from Xbox Game Pass later in the day. These include EA Sports NHL 23, Have a Nice Death, and Kona 2: Brume. Also departing are Sniper Elite 5, The Last Case of Benedict Fox, The Rewinder, and Thirsty Suitors. Among these, Sniper Elite 5 has had the longest tenure on the service, having been a part of it since May 2022. Subscribers who have grown fond of the series can try to bridge the gap left by Sniper Elite 5 with Sniper Elite: Resistance, which was added to Xbox Game Pass back in January 2025.
Xbox Game Pass Games Leaving Today
Game | Added | How Long To Beat |
---|---|---|
EA Sports NHL 23 | Apr 2023 | 12–54 hours |
Have a Nice Death | Apr 2024 | 9–66 hours |
Kona 2: Brume | May 2024 | 8–11 hours |
Sniper Elite 5 | May 2022 | 10–42 hours |
The Last Case of Benedict Fox | Apr 2023 | 11–15 hours |
Thirsty Suitors | Nov 2023 | 7–14 hours |
The Rewinder | Apr 2024 | 4–7 hours |
Most of the games listed on April 30’s departure schedule aren’t particularly lengthy, but completing any one in a single day remains quite challenging for many players. Titles such as The Rewinder and Kona 2: Brume might be achievable within that time frame, but only for the most dedicated gamers. The exception to this is EA Sports NHL 23, which isn’t accessible through Xbox Game Pass Standard; instead, it belongs to the EA Play catalog, a service exclusive to PC and the higher-tiered Ultimate plans.
Xbox Game Pass Added as Many Games as It Lost in April 2025
After the upcoming library update in April 2025, the Xbox Game Pass will see an increase of 14 games leaving its service. Essentially, the number of games departing from Microsoft’s subscription service will equal the number it added during the previous month. Although the service failed to make monthly net gains, April was a strong month for Xbox Game Pass with several well-received and successful titles joining its library. These include “Blue Prince,” “Clair Obscur: Expedition 33,” “Grand Theft Auto 5,” and “The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered.
Looking ahead, I’m excited to share that six games are set for release through Microsoft’s subscription service next month. Kicking off the lineup on May 1st are “Anno 1800” and “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2”. As if that wasn’t enough, “Dredge”, “Revenge of the Savage Planet”, “Doom: The Dark Ages”, and “To A T” will also be joining Xbox Game Pass in May 2025. Can’t wait to dive into these new adventures!
