For some time now, there were whispers that the game “Expeditions: A MudRunner Game” would join Xbox Game Pass. However, it didn’t make its August debut as expected. Instead, Xbox has officially announced that Saber Interactive’s off-road driving game will be available on Xbox Game Pass starting September 5. Following closely behind on September 11 is “Riders Republic”, an open-world multiplayer sports game from Ubisoft Annecy.
Launched in March 2024, “Expeditions: A MudRunner Game” is, as its title suggests, a spin-off from the popular “MudRunner” series. Similar to its predecessors, this vehicle simulation game allows players to take control of all-terrain scouts and trucks. However, unlike before, the main focus isn’t on cargo transportation; instead, it’s about exploring the breathtaking landscapes of various wilderness locations. Players can enhance their offroaders with a variety of exciting tools such as an echo sounder to measure water depth and a winch to conquer steep inclines. Additionally, there will be a base camp to manage, a team of truckers to supervise, and a drone to assist in route planning.

In “Riders Republic,” players find themselves immersed in an outdoor environment where they can choose to navigate the terrain on a mountain bike, skis, snowboard, or even while soaring through the air in a wingsuit. This action-packed sports game was launched in October 2021 and provides both a single-player career mode and multiplayer competition. In the career mode, players work their way up the ranks of various competitions, eventually challenging themselves at the Riders Ridge Invitational. The Xbox Series X/S version of this game supports up to 50 players competing together at once, a significant increase from the 20-player limit on Xbox One. There’s also a 6v6 competitive mode where teams aim to perform as many tricks as possible to score points. Lastly, “Riders Republic” allows for player customization, with new outfits and cosmetic items earned through the game’s career mode progression.
