Xbox Game Pass is constantly changing. New games are added regularly, which means older games have to be removed to make room. It’s really annoying when you realize several games you wanted to play are about to disappear from the service, and you’re forced to choose which ones to prioritize. While Microsoft gives a few weeks’ warning, it’s often not enough time to finish a long game, like a 30-hour role-playing game or a massive open-world adventure.
Some games are scheduled to leave Xbox Game Pass in April, but the exact list hasn’t been announced yet. Most games from other companies stay available for about a year, though sometimes they leave sooner. A year is a good estimate, so if a game arrived around April 2025, you should probably play it soon! Here are a few titles that might be leaving Game Pass in the coming weeks.
This is just a guess, but I really hope these games remain available on Game Pass indefinitely. Still, it’s wise to prepare for any possibility.
I’ve looked at games added to the service over the past year and a half, as that’s a typical length of time they stay available. For a complete picture, I’ve included a full list at the end of the article showing all games added to Game Pass in the last two years.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
The Best Game Of 2025 Turns One-Year-Old In April 2026
2025’s biggest hit, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, launched on April 24th and was immediately available with Xbox Game Pass. The RPG quickly became popular and maintained that momentum throughout the year, earning praise for its compelling story, engaging combat that blends turn-based strategy with real-time action, memorable characters, and solid music. The main story takes around 25-30 hours to finish – a reasonable length for an RPG. However, completionists will find plenty to do, easily adding dozens more hours to their playtime.
Honestly, if all the hype around Clair Obscur hasn’t gotten you to give it a shot, I don’t think anything will. But I’ll say this: you don’t have to love traditional turn-based RPGs to enjoy it. The combat feels totally different because of the real-time parrying and dodging – it’s not like the usual stuff in the genre at all.
Crime Scene Cleaner
Clean Up The Scene Of The Crime Before It Is Too Late
I have to say, while everyone seems to know about Clair Obscur, Crime Scene Cleaner is one of those Game Pass games that’s easy to miss. Honestly, seeing ‘job simulator’ usually makes me scroll past, but this one is different! It came to Game Pass in April 2025, and it’s surprisingly relaxing. It takes what should be a really stressful job and turns it into something almost therapeutic – perfect for unwinding after a tough day.
Okay, so the basic idea of this game is awesome – you’re cleaning up crime scenes before the police arrive. That’s really it, but it’s surprisingly engaging! You have to be super thorough and check everything to find all the evidence. They even added skills you can unlock, which is cool. Honestly, Crime Scene Cleaner is a blast, but it’s one of those games you just need to experience for yourself. If you were a fan of PowerWash Simulator, trust me, you’ll love this – it gives you that same satisfying feeling!
I was so excited to hear that Crime Scene Cleaner just got a free update with Act 2! And the best part? It’s included with Game Pass. This really makes me think the developers are planning to support the game for a long time, which is awesome.
Grand Theft Auto 5
GTA 5 Might Leave Game Pass… Again
Rockstar Games operates independently, making its own decisions. GTA 5 was briefly removed from Game Pass in January 2024, but then added back in April 2026, so its availability is uncertain. It wouldn’t be unexpected if Rockstar removed the game before the release of GTA 6, but that’s still several months away – November 2026.
It feels like everyone has played GTA 5 by now! Besides Minecraft, it’s arguably the most popular game ever, especially when you include GTA Online. While not many new players are joining, there are likely people who haven’t explored Los Santos for years. If that sounds like you, it might be time to jump back in.

Blue Prince
Time Might Be Running Out To Solve This Puzzle
Alongside the other Day One Game Pass title coming in April 2025, Blue Prince was a standout game from last year and is perfect for anyone who enjoys challenging puzzle games. You inherit a mansion that constantly rearranges itself, and you must build 45 rooms using cards, trying to reach room 46 in 50 moves or less. While that’s the initial goal, Blue Prince is a roguelike, meaning you’ll play repeatedly. Thankfully, the game slowly reveals its story and secrets, making each attempt feel worthwhile. The core idea is incredibly clever, and it’s also brilliantly brought to life.
To be honest, I didn’t finish reading Blue Prince because I started reading Clair Obscur instead. I plan to go back and finish Blue Prince soon, though.
Sifu
Sifu Will Not Wait Forever
Sifu joined Xbox Game Pass in October 2024 and has been available for a year and a half. It’s likely to remain on the service for some time, but it isn’t part of PlayStation Plus or other major subscription services. For many players, including myself, Sifu is a game that sits on your to-play list, waiting for the perfect moment to really enjoy it.
I’m so excited about Sifu! The combat looks amazing – really fast-paced and focused on martial arts. Plus, it’s a roguelite, which means every run will be different. Now, everyone says it’s hard – like, seriously challenging. That might scare some people off, but honestly, I think it’s worth checking out even if it doesn’t end up being your cup of tea. I’m going to give it a shot for sure!
Ashen
An Underrated Soulslike Game
Rounding out our list of Game Pass additions for October 2024 is Ashen, a game you might not have heard of, and that’s precisely why it’s worth highlighting. Released about four years before Elden Ring, Ashen is an open-world, Soulslike adventure. Its developers, A44, successfully drew inspiration from Dark Souls while still forging its own unique identity.
I’m still amazed by how good this game looks, even now! The art style really holds up. The world isn’t huge, but it’s super stylish and has a great atmosphere. It’s definitely got that classic Soulslike combat, but Ashen also puts a big focus on exploring. You leave a central area to go on these voyages, and that hub actually changes as you progress through the story. What’s really cool is how you get stronger – it’s not about leveling up stats, but finding better gear and talismans. It was a really neat system, as far as I can recall.
