Xbox Game Pass is Adding 4 More Retro Games Soon

As a big Xbox fan, I was so excited to hear about the December 2025 Update! They’re adding four games to Retro Classics, which is a service you get with Xbox Game Pass. The best part? Unlike some other Game Pass perks, you don’t need the most expensive plan to enjoy it – it’s available with any level of Game Pass, whether you have Essential, or all the way up to Ultimate!

Retro Classics, which started in May, is a new Xbox service created with Antstream Arcade. It lets players enjoy a wide variety of classic, older games originally made by Activision and Blizzard. As of November 2025, the service includes 95 games available through Xbox Game Pass, featuring titles like Caesar (originally on Amiga), Chopper Command (Atari 2600), and MechWarrior 2 (PlayStation).

Retro Classics December 2025 Game Codename: Iceman Explained

Released in March 1990 for MS-DOS and Amiga, Codename: Iceman is an early adventure game created by Sierra On-Line/Entertainment. The game is set in a near-future world with a political conspiracy between the US and Soviet Union, and players control naval officer Johnny Westland using text commands. While not a hugely remembered game, Codename: Iceman is often recalled for its long submarine section and unique gameplay, though not always fondly.

Retro Classics December 2025 Game Plaque Attack Explained

Originally launched in 1983 for the Atari 2600, Plaque Attack is a straightforward Activision game where you control a tube of toothpaste, protecting teeth from falling food. The gameplay is very similar to Space Invaders – you shoot toothpaste at waves of burgers and fries that descend towards the teeth at the top and bottom of the screen. Like many classic games, Plaque Attack focuses on achieving a high score and ends when all the teeth are gone.

Retro Classics December 2025 Game Police Quest 2 Explained

Following up on Police Quest: In Pursuit of the Death Angel, which came to Xbox Game Pass’ Retro Classics in May, Police Quest II: The Vengeance first launched in November 1988 for MS-DOS and Amiga computers. Like Codename: Iceman, it was created by Sierra On-Line and used their SCI engine for its graphic adventure gameplay. In Police Quest 2, you play as Detective Sonny Bonds, tracking down escaped convict Jessie Bains. The character of Bains was actually based on a real criminal active in the 1980s. As Bonds, you’ll investigate crime scenes, analyze clues, and arrest suspects, all through the game’s traditional text-based command system.

Originally created for the Atari 2600, as well as the Commodore 64, ZX Spectrum, and Atari 8-Bit, this 1983 title is a challenging space flight simulator. Players take full control of a spaceship, managing every step of its launch and safe return to Earth.
