Xbox Game Pass users will no longer be able to play four games soon, as an update on October 15 will remove them from the service. Although services like Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus let players enjoy many different games for a monthly fee, the available games change regularly. This can be frustrating for players who haven’t had a chance to try certain games before they are taken off the list.
Man, it’s getting seriously pricey to keep up with new games these days. Developing AAA titles like the newest Call of Duty or the super hyped Grand Theft Auto 6 costs a fortune, and that gets passed on to us! That’s why I’ve been relying on services like Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus – they let me play a ton of different games for a monthly fee. But here’s the catch: Microsoft just announced that Game Pass is going up in price. The Ultimate tier, which is what I have, is going to jump by $10 a month, bringing the total to $29.99. It’s a bummer, honestly, but I still think it’s a good deal considering how many games I get to play. It’s just getting harder and harder to stay current with all the new releases without spending a ton of cash.
The recent price hike was a big letdown for subscribers, and many quickly canceled their Xbox Game Pass subscriptions. Unfortunately, there’s more unwelcome news: four games will leave the service on October 15. According to Pure Xbox, Cocoon, Core Keeper, Donut County, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed will all be removed later this month. On the bright side, these games will be 20% off until they’re gone. If you want to keep playing any of them after October 15, it’s a good idea to buy them before then to take advantage of the discount.
Xbox Game Pass Games Leaving on October 15

- Cocoon
- Core Keeper
- Donut County
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed
It’s always a shame to see games leave Xbox Game Pass, but the great news is that October will bring a lot of new titles to the service. Several games will be available on day one, starting with Sopa – Tale of the Stolen Potato and Little Rocket Lab on October 7. Then, look forward to Ball x Pit on October 15, Keeper on October 17, and Ninja Gaiden 4 on October 21. There are also more major day-one releases planned for later this year, including the much-awaited Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, which will be available to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass members on November 14.
Following the departure of three Ninja Gaiden games from Xbox Game Pass earlier this week, players are anticipating the arrival of Ninja Gaiden 4 on the service in the coming weeks. It’s good that fans had a chance to finish Ninja Gaiden 3 before it was removed, because the new game will continue the story, picking up several years after the events of the 2012 release. If you don’t have an Xbox Game Pass subscription, Ninja Gaiden 4 will also be released on PlayStation 5 and PC.
