Xbox Game Pass subscribers need to be aware that five games will be removed from the service in December 2025. Typically, Microsoft gives players about two weeks’ notice when games are leaving, but this time they’ve announced both the games departing on December 15th and those leaving on December 31st in advance.
Microsoft recently announced the new games coming to Xbox Game Pass in December 2025, across all subscription levels. Several titles have already been added, including Marvel Cosmic Invasion and Lost Records: Bloom & Rage. More games are on the way soon: Routine arrives on December 4th, and A Game About Digging a Hole, Death Howl, and Dome Keeper will be available starting December 9th. Mortal Kombat 1 launches on December 10th, and Bratz: Rhythm and Style joins the lineup on December 11th. Along with these additions, Microsoft also shared which games will be leaving Game Pass this month.
List of Xbox Game Pass Games Leaving in December 2025
Games Leaving on December 15
- Mortal Kombat 1
- Still Wakes the Deep
- Wildfrost
Games Leaving on December 31
- Carrion
- Hell Let Loose
Microsoft has announced that five games will be removed from Xbox Game Pass this December. Mortal Kombat 11, Still Wakes the Deep, and Wildfrost will be leaving on December 15th, followed by Carrion and Hell Let Loose on December 31st. If you’re a Game Pass subscriber, now’s a good time to play these games before they’re gone. Plus, you can get a 20% discount on any titles you want to keep, even after they leave the service.
Okay, so if you haven’t played Mortal Kombat 11, it’s a seriously packed fighting game – tons of characters to choose from and it’ll keep you playing for ages. It’s the biggest game leaving Xbox Game Pass in December 2025, but don’t worry, Mortal Kombat 1 is taking its place on December 15th. It might seem weird with the numbers, but Mortal Kombat 1 is actually the newest game, and MK11 came before it. Honestly, MK1 got slightly better reviews, so a lot of us are seeing it as a real step up!
Both Still Wakes the Deep, a horror game set on an oil rig, and Wildfrost, a deck-building roguelike from 2023, have received generally good reviews, making their upcoming removal a shame. Keep in mind that these games, along with MK11, will no longer be available after December 15th, so be sure to check them out if you’re interested.

On December 31st, two games will be removed from Game Pass: Carrion, a unique horror game where you play as the monster, and Hell Let Loose, a realistic World War 2 shooter. Luckily, both Carrion and Still Wakes the Deep are relatively short – you can finish them in around five hours – giving subscribers a chance to play them before they’re gone.
