Xbox Game Pass Losing 4 Games With ‘Very Positive’ Reviews Today

Xbox Game Pass is removing four games today, December 15th, including the popular title Wildfrost. All four games have received positive feedback from players. This brings the total number of games removed from Xbox Game Pass this year to 126.

As usual, Microsoft removed games from its Xbox Game Pass subscription service every two weeks throughout the year. The latest removals, which happened on November 30th, included popular titles like Octopath Traveler 1 and 2, as well as SteamWorld Build, Barbie Project Friendship, and Lords of the Fallen.

Wildfrost and 3 More Titles Leaving Xbox Game Pass Today

Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass is adding four more games today: Wildfrost, Still Wakes the Deep, Mortal Kombat 11, and Paw Patrol World. These games, along with others leaving the service on December 15th, have all received great reviews from players. Even the lowest-rated of the bunch, Paw Patrol World, has a positive user rating of almost 80% on Steam, thanks to its popular co-op gameplay.

All Xbox Game Pass Games Leaving December 15

Game Added How Long to Beat OpenCritic Avg. Positive Steam Reviews
Mortal Kombat 11 Dec 2021 6–62 hours 83 86.84%
Still Wakes the Deep Jun 2024 4–8 hours 76 86.19%
Wildfrost Dec 2024 11–50 hours 78 80.57%
Paw Patrol World Sep 2025 3–5 hours 65 79.48%

Paw Patrol World is leaving Xbox Game Pass after a surprisingly short time, especially considering it was briefly available earlier in the year. Added in September 2025, it will have left the service twice within a single year. Xbox didn’t explain why the game is being removed so quickly, and it wasn’t included in the recent announcement of games leaving in December 2025. However, the Xbox app has indicated it would be removed today since late November.

Last month, Hollow Knight: Voidheart Edition appeared on the Xbox app with a departure date of December 15th from Xbox Game Pass, but that listing has since been removed. These kinds of mistakes happen sometimes and are often fixed, but they frequently turn out to be accurate. For instance, MLB The Show 24 was once listed as leaving on March 15th, then removed from the list, but still left the service shortly after. Hollow Knight has been available on Xbox Game Pass since mid-2019, so Microsoft has likely extended its license to keep the game on the service multiple times.

What’s Next for Xbox Game Pass

Xbox Game Pass subscribers won’t see any new game announcements for the rest of 2025. Usually, Microsoft would have already revealed the next batch of games coming in December, but they’ve been combining those announcements into one big reveal for the past few years. This means we likely won’t know what’s coming in January 2026 until early next year. For now, two games are leaving the service on December 31st: Carrion and Hell Let Loose. Carrion is a unique “reverse horror” game where you play as the monster, and it was the first game added to Game Pass this year. Hell Let Loose is a realistic, team-based multiplayer shooter that’s been available on the service since January 2024.
