As an avid Xbox Game Pass subscriber, I have grown accustomed to the excitement of new game additions every month. However, this July 2024 feels a bit lackluster, with only three games announced for the Wave 2 lineup. The anticipation for new games is always high, and the recent price increase and major releases being locked behind Game Pass Ultimate have left many subscribers feeling frustrated.

Microsoft has announced the trio of games that Xbox Game Pass users can access in the upcoming Wave 2 update. While Xbox Game Pass additions usually number more than three games, it’s not unexpected for July to have fewer new arrivals given that it’s generally a quiet month for game launches.

Despite the scant addition of new games to Xbox Game Pass during July 2024’s Wave 2, this unfortunate development couldn’t have occurred at a more inconvenient moment for Microsoft. Shortly beforehand, Microsoft increased the price of Xbox Game Pass and declared that major day one titles would be exclusive to Game Pass Ultimate. These actions have predictably stirred discontent among long-term Xbox Game Pass subscribers. Analysts foresee the possibility of further price increases and even an ad-supported tier in the future.

For those Xbox Game Pass subscribers feeling apprehensive about upcoming changes, there’s some exciting news to look forward to! In July 2024, three fresh games will be added to the service. On July 18, two titles will make their debut: “Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn” and “Dungeons of Hinterberg.”

The feedback on Kunitsu-Gami has been generally favorable, with several critics commending its innovative concepts and captivating mechanics. Given its avant-garde nature, Kunitsu-Gami is an ideal candidate for Xbox Game Pass. This arrangement enables players who are intrigued by the game to test it out at no extra cost before making a purchase decision.

As an Xbox Game Pass subscriber myself, I’m thrilled that we’ll be getting access to all the Wave 2 July 2024 games this week. However, I have to admit that the second half of the month seems a bit light in terms of new releases. But no need to worry, as we also got two more games added to Xbox Game Pass today. So even with the July 2024 Wave 1 games, there’s still a decent amount of content for us to enjoy!

Two new games joined Xbox Game Pass on July 16: “Flock” and “Magical Delicacy.” Critics have given “Flock” generally divided reviews, while no critic assessments have been published for “Magical Delicacy” yet.
