The sequel to Obsidian Entertainment’s popular game, The Outer Worlds 2, is now available to play for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. The game launched on October 29th and was immediately included as part of the Game Pass Ultimate membership.
Okay, so I’ve been checking out what the critics are saying about The Outer Worlds 2, and it sounds awesome! Everyone’s calling it a really strong sequel, even better than the first game. It’s currently sitting at an 83 on OpenCritic, and reviewers are loving the RPG stuff, the characters, and just the whole sense of adventure and beautiful worlds. Honestly, as someone who played the first Outer Worlds, I was already hyped, but these reviews are making me even more excited to jump in!
Xbox Game Pass Adds The Outer Worlds 2
Even though Xbox Game Pass recently became more expensive, it still offers a great deal for gamers, especially because new games are often added to the service right when they’re released. Now, The Outer Worlds 2 is one of those games for Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. Those with the standard Game Pass plan might have to wait a year or longer to play this RPG, which many are calling a space-themed version of Fallout.

The Outer Worlds 2 isn’t simply a graphical upgrade to the original. While it continues the story in a world dominated by powerful corporations, players will explore a brand new colony called Arcadia. The game features new weapons, enemies, and a crew to manage, and benefits from improved first-person shooting thanks to collaboration with Halo Studios. Plus, players can finally have a pet in this installment!
October will see the release of The Outer Worlds 2 on Microsoft’s subscription service, and November brings even more new games for Xbox Game Pass. November starts strong with two day-one releases on the 4th: Football Manager 26 and 1000xResist, an indie adventure game set after an alien invasion. On November 6th, players can enjoy Whiskerwood, a city builder where mice rebel against their cat rulers. And later in the month, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will be available on day one.
