2025 has been an absolute blast for me as a gamer, thanks to Xbox’s subscription service really stepping up its game with Game Pass. They’ve added over 100 titles this year alone! Some of the hype-worthy first-party games I’ve been looking forward to include “Avowed,” “Doom: The Dark Ages,” and a remastered version of “The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion.” But it’s not just about the exclusives; they’ve also got some popular third-party games like “Clair Obscur: Expedition 33,” “Blue Prince,” “Balatro,” “Watch Dogs: Legion,” and “Assassin’s Creed: Mirage” on the list too. It’s been a diverse and exciting year for gaming, that’s for sure!
Starting now, Microsoft has unveiled the next batch of titles joining Game Pass this month, offering a diverse lineup across all service levels. As we speak, two games have already been released for Ultimate and PC members: “Blacksmith Master” (game preview) and “Void/Breaker“. On August 20th, Game Pass Standard subscribers will receive “Goat Simulator Remastered“, which was originally added to the premium tiers in November 2024. Also on August 20th, all members can look forward to “Persona 4 Golden” being added to the platform, while “Herdling” will become available for Game Pass Ultimate and PC users a day later, on August 21st. The month concludes with “Gears of War: Reloaded” arriving for Ultimate and PC members on August 26th, and “Dragon Age: The Veilguard“, which will also be accessible to those tiers on August 28th.

Among these fresh seven games, standouts include “Gears of War: Reloaded” and “Dragon Age: The Veilguard.” The initial release of “Gears of War” garnered much acclaim, and the remaster seems tailor-made for modern gaming platforms. Despite some controversy, “Dragon Age: The Veilguard” earned an average rating of 80 from critics on OpenCritic.
Sadly, certain games depart from Xbox Game Pass each month. For instance, August 15 saw the departure of Anthem, Farming Simulator 22, and Persona 3 Reload. Towards the end of this month, Ben 10 Power Trip, Borderlands 3, Paw Patrol Mighty Pups Save Adventure Bay, Sea of Stars, and This War of Mine: Final Cut will also be taken off the service.
In the coming months, subscribers can look forward to some exciting new additions. Specifically, “Ninja Gaiden 4” is scheduled to join Game Pass on October 21st, and “The Outer Worlds 2” will be available on the platform starting October 29th. Towards the end of the year, first-person shooter enthusiasts can anticipate gaining access to the highly anticipated “Call of Duty: Black Ops 7,” along with many other additions.
