Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members got a pleasant surprise with the recent addition of The Sims and The Sims 2 to the service. Microsoft usually announces all the new games coming to Xbox Game Pass each month, keeping subscribers informed about what to expect. They typically share these updates every couple of weeks, and just recently revealed the games available from late January through early February.
Microsoft has announced several new games coming to Xbox Game Pass throughout late January and February. The Talos Principle 2 will be available starting January 27th, followed by Drop Duchy on January 28th, and both MySims: Cozy Bundle and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 on January 29th. Looking ahead to February, Indika arrives on February 2nd and Final Fantasy 2 on February 3rd. Game Pass Ultimate members can also anticipate playing MENACE on February 5th and High on Life 2 on February 13th. Microsoft says more games will be added to the February lineup, but hasn’t revealed the full list yet.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Just Added The Sims 1 and 2
Good news for Xbox Game Pass subscribers! Microsoft has quietly added The Sims and The Sims 2 to the Ultimate and PC tiers. Because Xbox Game Pass Ultimate includes access to EA Play, any game added to EA Play is automatically available to subscribers at no extra cost. Both Sims games are available to play now, complete with all their expansion packs.
Both The Sims and The Sims 2 are considered all-time great video games, receiving excellent reviews and selling very well. For a long time, these games were difficult to play on modern computers, but last year EA re-released them through its own launcher and on Steam. While the initial re-release of The Sims had a few technical issues, those have been fixed, and now both games run smoothly. Players with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass can easily enjoy these classic titles.
EA Play is One of the Best Parts of Game Pass Ultimate
While the recent price increase for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate to $29.99 a month is disappointing, the service offers a lot of value. Microsoft plans to add even more new games to Game Pass Ultimate throughout 2026, and subscribers also get perks like Fortnite Crew access, a wide selection of Ubisoft games, and the entire EA Play library.
EA Play is consistently updated with new games, often adding major releases just six months after they come out. It also frequently provides free trials for brand-new titles, letting Game Pass Ultimate members test them before purchasing. If you regularly play EA’s annual sports games, this service is worth considering, particularly if you’re not in a rush to get the newest version right when it’s released.
We can expect a lot more Electronic Arts (EA) games to become available on Game Pass Ultimate in 2026. It’s unclear whether these games will be announced beforehand, or released unexpectedly, like with The Sims and The Sims 2. Either way, 2026 is shaping up to be a fantastic year for Game Pass, and we’re eager to see what games are added.
