Xbox is bringing the the “Xbox App” to some LG Smart TVs

Microsoft has teamed up with LG to make the Xbox App available on certain LG Smart TVs, which is part of their “Xbox Experience” promotional effort.

You don’t have to own an actual Xbox console to enjoy playing games on your LG Smart TV. Instead, you can directly stream games from the Xbox app on specific LG Smart TVs using cloud gaming technology. All you need is an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription and a compatible Bluetooth controller. The Xbox app (accessible in the LG Gaming Portal) allows you to play these games through cloud streaming. Additionally, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members can access certain games they own beyond the Game Pass library, such as NBA 2K25, among others.

Today, we’re thrilled to share that we’re teaming up with LG Electronics! By the end of this year, the Xbox app will be available on their new LG Smart TVs. As a result, Game Pass Ultimate members can play their games directly from the Xbox app on compatible LG Smart TVs using Xbox Cloud Gaming. This expansion offers players more flexibility in how they experience their favorite titles.

In the upcoming months, we’ll disclose further information about gaming with Xbox Cloud on LG TVs. For a comprehensive understanding of Xbox Cloud Gaming and how to play games on compatible devices such as smartphones, PCs, tablets, and more, head over to xbox.com/cloudgaming for detailed insights.

At present, we don’t yet possess a comprehensive list of all LG TV models, but here’s something exciting: If you own an LG TV and wish to continue gaming without relocating your console to another room, or even without needing a separate console, there’s good news for you!

Xbox recently unveiled updates to their reward scheme, incorporating Game Pass missions tailored for PC gamers as well.
