Xbox Launching Partner Gaming Handheld This Year, Report Claims

2025 might see Xbox stepping into the portable gaming market, as per reports by Jez Corden of Windows Central. It’s suggested that Microsoft is planning to release an Xbox-labeled handheld device towards the end of that year.

According to the report, the device isn’t going to be manufactured by Microsoft itself. Rather, they are collaborating with a hardware manufacturer partner, known as an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM).

According to reports, the gadget known as “Keenan” will undeniably resemble an Xbox, complete with an Xbox Guide button similar to those found on Xbox controllers.

Not much was given regarding features. However, there was speculation from the report.

In a manner similar to Lenovo’s collaboration with Valve on SteamOS, Corden predicts that this handheld device will lean towards a more computer-centric approach. This suggests it might operate on full Windows, thereby emphasizing the Microsoft Store and PC Game Pass, along with the option to install software like Steam.

Besides the plans for a handheld device themed around Xbox this year, Microsoft aims to release its next-generation console by the year 2027.

I’ve attempted contact with Xbox for their thoughts on the allegations. If they provide a statement, I’ll make sure to include it in this article.
