The service Xbox Game Pass Ultimate has recently expanded its offerings, allowing users to stream non-Game Pass titles via Xbox Cloud Gaming directly in web browsers. This means that Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can now stream a selection of their owned games on TVs and compatible devices through browsers, with a current list of 50 such games available.
2024 has been a fantastic year for me, an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriber! Last month alone, I got to play the highly anticipated day one release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, which was a huge bonus. Additionally, games like Spyro Reignited Trilogy and Diablo 4, from the esteemed Activision Blizzard stable, also joined the lineup. However, there have been some divisive decisions, such as the launch of the Xbox Game Pass Standard tier, which doesn’t offer day one releases, a feature I personally find quite intriguing.
Now, Xbox has announced that Game Pass Ultimate members can stream select games they own using Xbox Cloud Gaming, which is currently in Beta. The list includes 50 games that are not a part of Game Pass, including popular titles such as Baldur’s Gate 3, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Cyberpunk 2077, Final Fantasy 14, Hogwarts Legacy, and more. According to Xbox, subscribers can stream these games on compatible devices by using a supported browser (like Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome) as long as they own the games. To do it, they need to enter the official Xbox website, log in, and look for “Stream your own game.” Next year, the feature will also be brought to Xbox consoles and the Xbox app on Windows, and more games are likely to enter the catalog.
