Xbox is offering Game Pass Essential, Premium, and Ultimate members the chance to play six games at no cost until February 8th. This is part of Xbox’s Free Play Days event, where players can try out games for free and then buy them on sale.
Xbox’s Free Play Days are a regularly offered promotion, and already in 2026, players have had three opportunities to try out games for free. Most recently, on January 29th, Xbox let all players—even without a Game Pass subscription—play Fallout 76, For Honor, Dead by Daylight, and Grounded 2. Before that, two weeks prior, Xbox had an EA-themed Free Play Days event, giving players limited-time trials of Madden NFL 26, FC 26, College Football 26, NHL 26, F1 25, UFC 5, and PGA Tour.

This week, Xbox is offering six free games as part of its Free Play Days, and they all come from 2K and its publishing labels. The selection includes three 2K sports titles, plus a highly-rated roguelike action game, a popular strategy game, and a fast-paced LEGO racing game. Xbox Game Pass subscribers can download and play them all for free.
Released in September 2025, NBA 2K26 is the biggest highlight of this weekend’s free games on Xbox. Critics gave it an average score of 81 on OpenCritic, with 89% recommending it. While reviewers noted it’s similar to previous NBA 2K games, they agreed the on-court gameplay is the best it’s ever been. If you want to continue playing after February 8th, NBA 2K26 is available for purchase on the Xbox Store for $23.09—a significant discount from its regular price of $69.99.
Both PGA Tour 2K25, released in February 2025, and NBA 2K26 received the same high score from top critics on OpenCritic. However, PGA Tour 2K25 was also celebrated for trying new things and evolving the traditional gameplay. After a three-year hiatus, the game returned with updated controls, more ways to customize your experience, improved graphics, and plenty of different game modes. Right now, Xbox players can get PGA Tour 2K25 for $27.99 – a significant discount from its regular price of $69.99 – until February 8th.
TopSpin 2K25, released in April 2024, is the newest installment in the TopSpin tennis series after a 13-year gap since TopSpin 4. Although it didn’t reach the same level of acclaim as earlier games, TopSpin 2K25 received a 75 out of 100 average score from critics on OpenCritic, and 63% of critics recommended it. Reviewers generally enjoyed the actual tennis gameplay, but felt the game lacked some features and content. Currently, you can get TopSpin 2K25 on the Xbox Store for $14.99, a $5 discount from its regular price of $19.99.
When LEGO 2K Drive launched in May 2023, reviews were mixed. It currently has a score of 73 from top critics on OpenCritic, but only 46% of critics recommend it. The game is currently on sale for $11.99, reduced from $29.99. Meanwhile, Xbox’s February Free Play Days also include Risk of Rain 2 and Civilization 6, both highly-regarded titles in their genres. Xbox users can purchase these games for $6.24 and $5.99, respectively.
