Xbox President Confirms Series X/S Successors Are in Development

The head of Xbox has announced they’re already working on the next generation of consoles, meaning new versions of the Series X and Series S are coming.

Xbox is expanding its reach beyond consoles with its ‘This is an Xbox’ strategy, making its gaming services available on various devices. Following a successful entry into handheld gaming with the ROG Xbox Ally X, Xbox is now partnering with LG to bring gaming experiences to cars.

Many Xbox fans were curious about the company’s plans for its next generation of consoles, given all the other projects Xbox is working on. The good news is, the president confirmed that development is underway, and they’re already building and testing prototypes.

Xbox Series X/S Successors Are in the Prototyping and Designing Stage

In a recent Variety interview reported by The Gamer, Xbox President Sarah Bond confirmed that the next generation of Xbox consoles, following the Series X/S, are currently being developed.

Bond confirmed they are actively planning future products. They’ve already started developing the next generation of hardware, including prototyping and design work. He also mentioned their ongoing collaboration with AMD for the next generation of consoles.

The Xbox President explained that the ROG Xbox Ally X presented an opportunity to try something new and give gamers more options alongside their next-generation consoles. He emphasized that they focus on understanding what players and developers are asking for and developing new products when there’s a clear need for innovation.

Bond finished by mentioning upcoming innovations, including improvements to the handheld experience, expanding game compatibility, adding more benefits and features, and ultimately giving players more options and access to a wider range of games.
