In the game Xenoblade Chronicles X, Insect Jaws are crucial materials used for crafting Level 20 weapons. As you might guess, these materials can be obtained from insectoid creatures, but not all subcategories of these beings will yield Insect Jaws. This guide aims to clarify which specific subcategories drop Insect Jaws in Xenoblade Chronicles X, helping players embark on their quest for collecting these valuable items.
In the game Xenoblade Chronicles X, crafting the Archetype Weapons that boast Insect Jaw components necessitates a total of three such materials. Furthermore, players must collect Pristine Claws, Poisonous Needles, Arc Sand Ore, and Miranium to successfully build those weapons.
Where to Get Insect Jaws in Xenoblade Chronicles X
There are two types of insect-like creatures, Germivores and Thalluses, which sometimes drop Insect Jaws upon being defeated. These insects exist in various forms and are commonly found in the realms of Noctilum, Oblivia, and Sylvalum. While players might encounter these creatures naturally while exploring those areas, here are two particular locations where they can focus their search:
Two distinct groups of insectoid creatures, Germivores and Thalluses, occasionally drop Insect Jaws when defeated. These insects appear in various forms and are frequently found in Noctilum, Oblivia, and Sylvalum. Players who spend time in these regions may stumble upon these creatures organically, but here are two specific spots they can focus on:
Skulker & Echo Germivores at Seabird’s Beak (Sylvalum)
Sylvalum is the northern continent from Primordia, and the beach called Seabird’s Beak is found in its southwest area. The maps provided earlier have marked important spots for Xenoblade Chronicles X players, where you can encounter Skulkers and Echo Germivores between the hours of 7 PM and 5 AM.
Users can quickly adjust the time settings by pressing the ‘+’, navigating to ‘System’, and then choosing ‘Change Time’.
If a player needs additional Insect Jaws after defeating Germivores in certain locations, they can easily teleport to FN Site 403. This location is near the insectoids and can be quickly reached using the fast travel system in Xenoblade Chronicles X. By utilizing this feature, the Germivores will respawn, enabling players to continually fight them for the materials they drop.
False Thalluses in Canopied Nightwood (Noctilum)
In Noctilum’s Nightwood Canopy, near FN Site 225, you’ll find several False Thalluses. Their locations have been highlighted on earlier maps. While players can certainly harvest these creatures for their jaws in Xenoblade Chronicles X, farming the Germivores at Seabird’s Beak is a more straightforward approach.
Certainly, Thalluses reside at a higher tier than Germivores and inhabit riskier territories. Moreover, it takes longer to access the Thalluses since the closest fast-travel spot is further away, adding to the delay. Consequently, players seeking Insect Jaws might want to opt for Seabird’s Beak unless they have a strong reluctance towards exploring Sylvalum.
