For those curious about the future of Destiny 2, particularly with Codename: Frontiers starting soon, the studio is ready to disclose some updates. Excitingly, they’ve announced a new Destiny 2 livestream that will unveil details for the upcoming expansion, now known as The Edge of Fate.

It’s now time to discuss the return of the mysterious merchant Xur, bringing a fresh selection of goods for players of Destiny 2. Here you’ll find his whereabouts this weekend, updates on his exotic cipher mission, and a rundown of all the exotic and legendary items he’s offering during the weekend of April 18, 2025.

Where is Xur?

Now, you can find Xur residing permanently within The Tower’s Bazaar area, which means no more weekend searches for him.

Because the Marketplace sits conveniently midway between the two fast travel spots, players have the flexibility to choose either location to enter from. Make your way to the spot where Ikora and Hawthorne usually socialize, then search for the Ramen Shop towards the back of the area. With the shop behind you, the secret nook where Xur is hiding can be found to your right.

Destiny 2 Class Armor and Exotic Cipher

Each week, Xur carries on providing the standard quests, exotics, and legendary equipment. These tasks are essential for acquiring a second fated engram and obtaining legacy exotic gear from the Tower’s kiosk. Players can obtain a fresh cipher by participating in strikes or winning matches in Crucible or Gambit. Earn extra points by teaming up with fellow clan members or taking on more difficult tasks.

Exotic Perk:

  • – Melee and finisher final blows instantly grant cure and provide restoration for a short duration.

Once a dominant exotic weapon, it has experienced numerous balance adjustments (nerfs) throughout its lifespan. Currently, it remains a reliable exotic option for players specializing in knife-throwing or Blade Barrage as a gunslinger. However, it tends to excel more in PvE scenarios compared to player versus player (PvP) situations nowadays.

Peacekeeper – Titan leg armor

Exotic Perk:

  • – While wielding a Submachine Gun, handling, airborne effectiveness, and movement are all improved, and damage against combatants will increase the longer you remain on target. Submachine Guns are reloaded when stowed.

A particular Exotic weapon suited for Player versus Player (PvP) scenarios in this game, but there are superior alternatives within the game at present.

This weekend, the Year 7 update on Xur includes a new feature that allows him to provide several exotic weapons during a single visit. Here are the exotic items Xur is offering this weekend:

Hawkmoon – Hand Cannon

  • – Final blows and precision hits with Hawkmoon grant stacks of Paracausal Charge. The final round in the magazine deals bonus damage based on the number of stacks. Stowing Hawkmoon on the final round removes this bonus.

SUROS Regime – Auto Rifle

  • – The bottom half of each magazine deals bonus damage and has a chance to return health on kill.
  • – Holding down the trigger increases rate of fire.

Skyburner’s Oath – Scout Rifle

  • – This weapon lobs explosive slugs. When you’re aiming down sights, the slugs travel fast and straight. When you’re firing from the hip, the explosion is larger and applies Scorch to the target.
  • – This weapon is Full Auto, does extra damage to Cabal, and penetrates Phalanx shields.

Thunderlord – Machine Gun

  • – Final blows with this weapon generate stunning lighting strikes from above. Lightning strikes grant a stack of Bolt Charge. Strong against Overload Champions.
  • – Each rapid kill with this weapon progressively increases reload speed for a short time.
