Yakuza Kiwami 3 Revealed with a New Trailer

At the RGG Summit 2025, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio revealed the first trailer for *Yakuza Kiwami 3*, a complete remake of *Yakuza 3*. The new version will have improved graphics, updated gameplay, and an expanded story. Fans have been eager for a remake of *Yakuza 3* ever since the releases of *Yakuza Kiwami* and *Yakuza Kiwami 2*, and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has now delivered.

Originally released in 2010 for the PlayStation 3, *Yakuza 3* centers on Kazuma Kiryu protecting an orphanage from a hostile takeover. Although it wasn’t the most well-received game in the *Yakuza* series initially, due to somewhat awkward combat and limited side content, the upcoming remake aims to modernize the experience with improvements that align it with more recent *Yakuza* games.

Yakuza Kiwami 3 Official Trailer and Dark Ties Side Story

Ahead of Tokyo Game Show 2025, Ryu Ga Gotoku officially revealed *Yakuza Kiwami 3* with a brand new trailer. The trailer showcased improved graphics and gameplay that feels similar to other *Yakuza* titles like *Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza* and *Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth*. A new side story, “Dark Ties,” which explores the backstory of Yoshitaka Mine, was also announced, much to the delight of fans. While some have voiced concerns about changes to character designs, the game’s overall visual update and the new Mine storyline have been widely celebrated.

The *Yakuza* series consistently delivers for both longtime fans and newcomers, bringing back familiar faces and stories while also updating the gameplay and graphics. It’s still uncertain whether *Yakuza Kiwami 3* will be as successful as other *Yakuza* remakes, or if it will share problems with the original game. However, based on the quality of previous *Yakuza Kiwami* titles and recent releases, players can likely expect a great new experience with a well-loved story and character.

Besides the RGG Summit in 2025, Tokyo Game Show will feature big announcements and presentations from companies like Capcom, Konami, Square Enix, and Xbox. Sega will also have a complete lineup of games on display. Fans can expect more details about Yakuza Kiwami 2 and other exciting reveals at Tokyo Game Show 2025, so stay tuned for updates!
