Gamers recently discovered a job posting hinting that MLB The Show might be coming to PC soon. It’s been a trend in the gaming world for titles to move away from being exclusive to certain consoles, and Sony has already released several of its formerly exclusive games on PC. It looks like MLB The Show 25 could be next.
Sony has been bringing more of its PlayStation games to PC, like the popular titles Helldivers 2 and God of War Ragnarok, which you can find on Steam. Previously, these games often required a PlayStation Network (PSN) account, but that’s no longer always the case. While not every PlayStation series is available on PC, a recent job posting suggests another franchise might be coming soon.
Job Listing Suggests MLB The Show Is Coming to PC
A new job posting suggests that San Diego Studio, the team behind the popular MLB The Show series, is planning to develop a major PC game. The listing states they’re working on a “AAA PC title,” and it’s widely believed this refers to a future MLB The Show game, given that it’s their biggest and most well-known franchise. Bringing the baseball simulation to PC makes sense, as it’s been available on consoles for years and has even been a regular addition to Xbox Game Pass. While MLB The Show 25 was the first in four years not to launch on Game Pass, the series has a strong history with Microsoft platforms but hasn’t yet appeared on PC – and the next game may finally change that.
Releasing a PC version of the *MLB The Show* series would align with PlayStation’s strategy of creating ongoing, live service games. Recent financial reports show that games like *MLB The Show* and *Helldivers 2* contributed significantly to Sony’s revenue—over 40% from their own game releases—even though not all live service games have been successful. Expanding *MLB The Show*’s reach to PC players could help Sony strengthen its long-term plans and further grow its live service gaming business.
As a huge baseball and gaming fan, I’m so excited about the possibility of *MLB The Show* finally coming to PC! While it hasn’t been officially confirmed, there’s a lot of buzz that it’s the big sports title headed our way. We’re not even sure if it will be *MLB The Show 26* or *27* that makes the jump, but either way, it’s awesome to think about! Plus, I’ve also heard whispers about a possible mobile release, which would be incredible. It sounds like there could be some really big announcements for the franchise soon, and I can’t wait to find out what they are!
