Fans are one step closer to playing Capcom’s new game, Pragmata, now that a release date has been announced and a demo is available. Capcom also just revealed that the game will be launching on the Nintendo Switch 2.
Capcom’s Pragmata has intrigued fans ever since it was announced, as it’s a brand new game world unlike anything the company has done before. The game is an action-adventure story centered around Hugh, who’s trying to disable a dangerous artificial intelligence and find his way back to Earth from a research station on the moon. He’s assisted by Diana, an android who appears as a young girl and often rides on his back during battles.
Pragmata Reveals Release Date and Pre-Orders
At The Game Awards 2025, Capcom revealed a new trailer for their highly anticipated game, Pragmata, and announced its release date: April 24, 2026. The game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and now, the Nintendo Switch 2. PC players can try out the Pragmata Sketchbook demo on Steam right now, with demos for other platforms expected to follow soon.
Alongside a gameplay demo and the start of pre-orders, Pragmata detailed the bonuses players will receive for pre-ordering or buying the Deluxe Edition. Those who pre-order will get the Neo Bushido and Neo Kunoichi outfits for Hugh and Diana, giving them samurai and ninja-themed armor. The Deluxe Edition includes the Shelter Variety Pack, which features cat-themed costumes – “Fluffy” for Diana and “Lunar Cat” for Hugh – and mecha-inspired outfits with the “Mecha Builder” costume for Diana and the “Heavy Lifter” outfit for Hugh. It also adds Shelter background music, three unique gestures for Diana, a special Weapon Skin (Grip Gun DS) for Hugh’s starting weapon, and a collection of artwork created during the game’s development. The Deluxe Edition is available on Steam for $69.99, just $10 more than the standard edition’s price of $59.99.
This trailer might raise more questions than answers for anyone hoping to learn more about the game’s story. While it mostly showcases action-packed combat, it does offer glimpses into the connection between Hugh and Diana, with them reminiscing about Earth’s oceans. Hugh suggests Diana might join him on his journey back to his home planet, but it’s uncertain whether that’s possible or something she even wants. As for the gameplay, we see Hugh battling various enemies, including humanoid and large robots, with Diana providing support using her unique powers.
Players have been eagerly awaiting Pragmata since it was first announced in 2020, and after several delays, it finally has a confirmed release date. The development team needed extra time to carefully balance the gameplay, especially considering players will control both combat with Hugh and hacking with Diana. Capcom has been tight-lipped about the story, which is likely to draw many gamers in when Pragmata launches in 2026.
