Summary
- Sloclap’s multiplayer soccer game Rematch is hosting a multi-platform beta until May 31.
- Sign-ups are available via the game’s official website, Steam, and the Xbox Insider Hub console app.
- Rematch launches June 19 on the Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. It will also be a day-one Xbox Game Pass release.
The game titled “Rematch,” which will be available for Xbox Game Pass from day one and is set to release in mid-June 2025, can now be played early on the Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. This early access is made possible by a newly introduced beta version of “Rematch,” which technically requires an invitation, although it seems that getting one might not be too difficult – at least on certain platforms based on some reports.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’m eagerly anticipating my next battlefield: the fresh project from Sloclap, the Parisian studio that brought us the critically praised martial arts game, Sifu. Although both games carry Sloclap’s distinctive painterly art flair, they differ drastically in gameplay mechanics. The upcoming title is a multiplayer soccer game, offering lightning-fast five-a-side matches in vibrant arenas, providing a whole new challenge for me to master!
Despite the scheduled release date for Rematch being on June 19, the game developers, Sloclap, are giving fans an early chance to play. To accomplish this, they’ve initiated a beta test that’s accessible across all platforms where the game will be available. This beta test is primarily designed to put Sloclap’s network infrastructure through its paces, so signing up doesn’t require pre-ordering the game; it’s entirely free.
How To Sign Up for Rematch Beta Test

- PC: request Playtest access via Steam
- Xbox Series X/S and PS5: request an invite via PlayRematch.com
- Xbox-only alternative: request an invite via the Xbox Insider Hub console app
It seems that although Sloclap has stated the test access is invite-only and there are limited spots, PC slots for the test appear to still be open. As per Game Rant’s tests on May 29 (ET), requesting access through Steam results in immediate approval. On the other hand, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S users need to register for the beta on the game’s official website. This process involves signing up for the newsletter and verifying an email address. Unlike PC users, console beta invites are not sent instantly, according to Game Rant’s tests.
The trial version for Sloclap’s latest soccer game is set to continue until May 31st (Saturday), concluding at 5am Pacific Time, 8am Eastern Time, 12pm Greenwich Mean Time, or 2pm Central European Time. Keep in mind that during network tests like this one, technical glitches might occur. The creators of Rematch kindly ask players for understanding if they experience any issues. These tests are primarily conducted to detect bugs, traffic jams, and similar problems. Therefore, any problems found during the beta period will have a higher chance of being addressed before the official release of Rematch.
Rematch intends to deliver adjustable controls and multiple football-inspired mechanics, according to Sloclap. Currently, the beta version is focused solely on testing the developers’ system, meaning they are not currently seeking player feedback about the actual game at this stage.
