- Different heroes require different support items based on their quirks and weaknesses.
- From Auto Balancers to Deku’s Armor, these support items play a crucial role in maximizing heroes’ potential.
In discussions about characters from the anime series “My Hero Academia“, many often focus on the Quirks. This is understandable, given that superpowers are typically linked with superheroes. Nevertheless, an additional aspect significantly contributes to and even amplifies a hero’s abilities beyond just their quirk. These items are referred to as “Support Items“.
Different superheroes need distinct types of equipment. For some, these items assist them in managing their special abilities, while others employ them to amplify their combat strength. Here are the top support items in My Hero Academia, arranged based on their effectiveness and utility for the users. Remember that this ranking is subjective, so don’t hesitate to share your own opinions or favorites.
10. Auto Balancers
More Downforce For The Speedster

- User: Tenya Ida
- Creator: Mei Hatsume
- First Appearance: Episode 21
In her quest to become a hero, Ida struggles with mastering his unique ability, which becomes particularly challenging when moving at high speeds. At a certain point, he loses balance and usually ends up crashing. To help Ida navigate these difficulties until his body adjusts, Mei Hatsume from U.A.’s Development Studio designed the Auto Balancing Devices.
The aid for Ida comprises two elements. One is knee supports designed to facilitate smooth leg movement for him. The second part is a small, functional wing attached to his back, serving as a balance aid and enhancing the adhesion to the ground – similar to a racing car’s spoiler. This assistance allows Ida to fully exploit his Quirk’s capabilities, significantly boosting his heroic abilities in return.
9. Artificial Vocal Cords
A Voice Changer For The Brainwasher

- User: Hitoshi Shinso
- Creator: U.A.’s Development Studio
- First Appearance: Episode 91
Hitoshi Shinso possesses a unique ability where he can manipulate minds through speech. However, the major drawback of this talent is that once someone has been subjected to Shinso’s mind control and understands its mechanism, they will no longer be affected by his voice, making his power ineffective against them.
To overcome this restriction, the UA’s Development Studio fashioned what is known as the Artificial Vocal Cords. This auxiliary device empowers Shinso with the ability to alter his voice, imitating others. As a result, it becomes more challenging for his target to ignore responding to his altered voice.
8. Sharpshooting Gear
A Device To Control And Channel Electricity

- User: Denki Kaminari
- Creator: Mei Hatsume and Power Loader
- First Appearance: Episode 56
As an onlooker, I must admit that Denki Kaminari’s Quirk stands out among his peers. His electricity, after all, proves effective against a singular adversary or a group. It’s not just limited to close-quarters fighting; it can be employed for mid-range and even long-distance combat as well.
Regrettably, Kaminari has no mastery over his power, only able to activate and deactivate it. The introduction of Mei Hatsume’s invention, the Sharpshooting Equipment, has provided him with a means to control the flow of his electricity. With this device, he can now direct and adjust the strength of his electric discharge towards a specific target. Thanks to the Sharpshooting Equipment, Kaminari’s electrical charge is no longer an uncontrolled blast.
7. Strafe Panzer
Retractable Machine Guns With Explosive Bullets

- User: Katsuki Bakugo
- Creator: Unknown Support Company
- First Appearance: Episode 148
Despite already possessing the distinctive Grenadier Bracers, which store and discharge nitroglycerin-like sweat in massive blasts, it’s evident that Bakugo yearns for even greater power. His insatiable desire isn’t just for more explosions, but for something that could amplify their reach, allowing him to spread his destructive force across a broad expanse.
In response to Bakugo’s distinctive demand, the maker of his Grenadier Bracers presented him with the Strafe Panzer – essentially a large, retractable gun mounted on his back that can discharge his explosive perspiration as rapid-fire bullets, effectively covering a broad area. In essence, it’s similar to the machine guns used by the Warmachine character in the Iron Man films, but tailored for Bakugo. This additional piece of equipment significantly boosts the adaptability of Bakugo’s Quirk.
6. Capturing Weapon
The Perfect Weapon For Aizawa And Shinso

- User: Shota Aizawa and Hitoshi Shinso
- Creator: Unknown Support Company
- First Appearance: Episode 5
For characters Shota Aizawa and Hitoshi Shinso, the Restraining Tool serves as a crucial accessory and primary weapon. Crafted from stretchy, resilient, and incredibly durable fabric, this tool is capable of restraining even the most powerful adversaries.
In this rephrased version, I have used “Restraining Tool” instead of “Capturing Weapon” to make it more descriptive and easier to understand for readers who may not be familiar with the original term.
While other equipment on this list may have more force or destructive potential, these essential clothes are indispensable for Aizawa and Shinso. Their unique abilities might not be sufficient to vanquish an adversary on their own. Aizawa can momentarily nullify his foe’s Quirk, while Shinso can manipulate his opponent’s mind, but neither of them possesses the physical strength to overpower their enemy. However, with the Capturing Weapon, they can effortlessly subdue and defeat their opponents.
5. Curious Flattener
A Compact And Transformable Weapon

- User: Chitose Kizuki
- Creator: Detnerat
- First Appearance: Episode 109
Flattener with a Curious Design is a transportable weapon utilized by Chitose Kizuki, a member of the Meta Liberation Army. This handy device was created by Detnerat, taking the form of a wristband that can transform into a gun-like box, capable of firing a potent burst. Although Detnerat might be an ill-reputed corporation, it’s crucial to acknowledge their skills where they are deserved.
Detnerat, a company, specializes in creating and producing accessories for both heroes and ordinary citizens. They place great emphasis on tools that are conveniently sized and user-friendly. It’s this convenience that makes the Curious Flattener truly remarkable. It’s not about its destructive capabilities; rather, it’s a bracelet-shaped weapon that eliminates the need for cumbersome equipment like Bakugo’s Strafe Panzer or Kaminari’s Sharpshooting Gear. All one needs is the Curious Flattener bracelet, and they are ready to take on opponents at any time and place.
4. Full Gauntlet
A Protective Pair Of Gauntlets

- User: Izuku Midoriya
- Creator: Melissa Shield
- First Appearance: My Hero Academia: Two Heroes
One major struggle for Deku is that he can’t fully unleash the destructive potential of One For All without causing harm to his own body. As a result, he’s limited to using just a fraction of his power. However, everything shifted when Melissa Shield handed him the Full Gauntlet.
According to its title, the Full Gauntlet is a set of arm protectors that tightly encircle Deku’s arms. These protective gear absorb all the destructive energy from One For All that would normally affect his arms. This enables Deku to utilize his immense power without fearing harm to his arms. In essence, the Full Gauntlet allows him to release 100% of his incredible destructive force up to three times before needing a replacement pair.
3. Allmobile
The MHA Version Of The Batmobile

- User: David Shield
- Creator: David Shield
- First Appearance: My Hero Academia: Two Heroes
The Allmobile is an extraordinary vehicle, packed with advanced technology that assists its driver in combating villains. Originally conceived and utilized by David Shield, who lacks the necessary combat abilities, this unique car serves as his means of providing a fighting chance against any adversary.
Gazing upon the Allmobile, I can’t help but liken it to an evolved iteration of the legendary Batmobile. Equipped with rocket engines at the rear, capable of launching missiles, boasting a distinctive defense system, and topping it off, this marvel can take flight.
2. Armored All Might
The MHA Version Of An Iron Man Suit

- User: Toshinori Yagi
- Creator: Melissa Shield
- First Appearance: Episode 159
If David Shield owns an enhanced Batmobile, then All Might possesses a strengthened Iron Man suit. Before the impending war, All Might anticipated that he might have to confront All For One. As he can no longer use his power, he asks Melissa Shield to create a powerful combat armor for him. That’s how the Armored All Might was made.
This armor not just boasts extraordinary durability and boosts strength, speed, and flight abilities, but it’s also equipped with weapons inspired by the unique powers (Quirks) of Class 1-A students. From the invincible shield of Red Riot to Deku’s restraining Blackwhip to the blinding light of Shining Hero, this armor effectively mimics the Quirks of All Might’s cherished disciples.
1. Deku’s Armor
An Improved Version Of All Might’s Armor

- User: Izuku Midoriya
- Creator: Mei Hatsume and Melissa Shield
- First Appearance: Chapter 430
In contrast to All Might being the sole quirkless hero to wear armored gear, there’s another young hero who receives an upgraded version of it. After Deku lost his Quirk in battle against Shigaraki, All Might later gifts this new hero with a revamped Armored All Might suit. This modernized power armor was developed through a joint effort between American and Japanese scientists, under the guidance of Melissa Shield and Mei Hatsume, and financed by Deku’s classmates.
In an updated form, Deku’s Armor stands as a lighter and highly flexible counterpart to All Might’s original armor, tailored to suit Deku’s combat techniques. Just like its predecessor, the latest version of the armor incorporates technology inspired by actual Quirks. However, unlike before, the replicated abilities stem from Deku’s One For All power. This new armor boasts capabilities such as floating, danger sensing, creating smokescreens, and utilizing Fa Jin – making it a versatile tool for Deku in battle.
It’s too bad we don’t get to witness Deku’s Armor in action, but given that he still made it to No. 4 on the Hero ranking while balancing both hero duties and teaching responsibilities, it seems clear the armor is functioning perfectly. As a result, there’s no question that Deku’s Armor stands out as the top support item within the world of “My Hero Academia.
