The anime “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” showcases characters hailing from a variety of backdrops and experiences, all of whom have endured heartbreaking tragedies and personal setbacks that significantly influence their journeys. One character who has left an indelible impression on viewers worldwide is Zenitsu Agatsuma.

Over the course of the series, Zenitsu frequently engaged in thrilling bouts with his companions, yet it appears he hasn’t fully realized his true capabilities during any of these encounters. With the upcoming Infinity Castle film set to premiere this year, and considering the events that unfolded in the Hashira Training arc, it seems like Zenitsu’s time to shine has arrived at last.

Zenitsu Agatsuma: The Sleeping Warrior

Jigoro Kuwajima’s Disciple is a Ruthless Fighter When His Instincts Take Over

Initially, Zenitsu Agatsuma appeared ill-suited for the Demon Slayer Corps during his introduction in the series. Frequently found trembling with fear, constantly whining, and unwilling to engage in combat against demons, he seemed an unlikely ally for Tanjiro and Inosuke, who were consistently ready to risk their lives for a noble cause.

I dislike myself greatly compared to others. Despite constantly striving to improve and pull myself together, I often find myself shrinking back, fleeing, or crying instead. Deep within, I yearn for change, longing to become someone who is capable and self-reliant.

Intriguingly, as Agatsuma showed glimmers of his talent, people’s opinions shifted towards him, and numerous series fans adjusted their views. It’s peculiar that he didn’t significantly change as a character, yet when his instincts kicked in during unconsciousness, Zenitsu appeared invincible, like an entirely different individual. His relentless combat skills over the seasons have garnered admiration from viewers, who hope to see him transform into a fearless version of himself. However, will this transformation ever occur?

How Infinity Castle Will Reveal Agatsuma’s True Potential

Losing His Master Will Liberate Zenitsu From All His Fears

Prior to the Hashira Training arc, Zenitsu exhibited flashes of potential in numerous battles across various seasons, but his character remained largely unchanged. His fearfulness and timidity were off-putting for some viewers who found him hard to like. On the other hand, those who admired him hoped for a braver, more ruthless Zenitsu, which was not realized for quite some time. Similarly, Agatsuma displayed minimal growth as a character. Although he may have enhanced his fighting skills, he continued to appear aimless as an individual and rarely showed any enthusiasm for combat or training.

However, everything shifted when he encountered a puzzling missive during his apprenticeship under Stone Hashira Gyomei Himejima. Up until that moment, Agatsuma had despised every second of training with the Hashira, frequently grumbling and attempting to flee. But upon reading the letter, something within him transformed abruptly. In a flash, he was no longer the individual he used to be.

In simpler terms, Zenitsu chose solitude and barely touched food while deeply engrossed in meditation and self-training. Even during Tanjiro’s visit, he spoke little and declined the food offered. Typically outspoken Agatsuma would have complained about tough training conditions and caused a fuss over the difficult situation, but he remained silent, bleeding from his head without complaint. This transformation, though, was triggered by what exactly?

Throughout much of my career as a demon slayer, Zenitsu grappled with finding a purpose that justified risking his life. Although he bravely defended the greater good in his unconscious state, he rarely exhibited a willingness to fight when awake. However, when a cryptic letter disclosed that his mentor, Jigoro Kuwajima, had taken his own life through seppuku, Zenitsu found it unbearable to accept this tragic news.

The heartbreaking truth left Zenitsu yearning for vengeance, as the one individual who had stood by him was now deceased. What made Jigoro’s demise particularly agonizing was that someone close to his mentor not only violated their shared values but also delivered a treacherous blow in the most despicable manner conceivable.

Here’s my creation – I designed it myself, which means it’s entirely under my control! Using this approach, I aimed to engage you on level grounds in the battle!

Propelled by his thirst for retribution, Zenitsu stepped into the Infinity Castle, discarding any concern for his own safety. The specter of death no longer held him back, allowing him to battle without succumbing to his customary unconsciousness. For the first time in his existence, Zenitsu found a reason, a mission he was willing to undertake no matter the cost – Agatsuma had discovered his purpose.

In the film “Infinity Castle,” Zenitsu prepares to step into the extra-dimensional realm crafted by Nakime, pursuing the individual behind his master’s unexpected demise. However, this confrontation will differ significantly from any he has experienced before, as Zenitsu no longer harbors fear of death or severe injury. With this monumental challenge, Zenitsu is anticipated to unlock his full potential and exceed all expectations. The “Infinity Castle” movie promises a host of unforgettable scenes, and Agatsuma’s fearless battle is undoubtedly destined to stand out among them.
