- Tyranitar’s Ghost Tera type in Seven-Star Tera Raid challenge makes teamwork vital to overcome its high defense and attack power.
- Utilize Krookodile’s max EVs and Dark Tera Type with moves like Breaking Swipe and Power Trip to defeat Tyranitar solo.
During the Tyranitar Seven-Star Tera Raid event in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, players developed strategies primarily centered around Krookodile and Primeape. These strategies for both Pokemon Scarlet and Violet involved using Pokemon with the Anger Point ability to exploit Tyranitar’s high critical-hit chance instead of being affected by it.
Tyranitar is a pseudo-legendary Pokemon from the Johto region, also known as the Armor Pokemon. It evolves from Pupitar at level 55 and typically has both Rock and Dark types. In the latest Seven-Star Tera Raid challenge of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Tyranitar’s Tera type transforms into Ghost, boosting its defenses. Regularly, Tyranitar employs Shadow Claw, Stone Edge, Crunch, and Earthquake moves, while occasionally using Focus Energy and Dragon Dance. Although Ghost Pokemon are vulnerable to Dark and Ghost attacks, overcoming Tyranitar necessitates teamwork due to its extensive type coverage and high attack strength.
In spite of Tyranitar, the Untouchable, being an intimidating adversary, some clever Pokemon trainers have devised methods to overcome it during single-player games. On the r/PokemonScarletViolet subreddit, a member named Emekasah posted a strategy that centered around Krookodile as the lead character. This strategy was originally credited to a YouTube user known as JohannaDarner for their build construction. The unique ability of Krookodile, Anger Point, amplifies its attack capabilities after receiving a critical hit, which is frequently triggered by Tyranitar using Focus Energy at the beginning of the fight.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Players Share Tyranitar Tera Raid Solo Strategies
In this setup, Krookodile was optimized with its stat EVs at their highest level, and it was assigned the Dark type as its Tera Type. Its main moves included Breaking Swipe, Power Trip, and Taunt, which were utilized strategically to minimize Tyranitar’s damage and prevent it from using Dragon Dance if timed properly.
Krookodile, compelled to deliver a decisive blow, instead opted for Power Trip following Terastallization, securing the victory. You can acquire Krookodile in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet once you’ve accessed The Indigo Disk. In another post on r/PokemonScarletViolet, Reddit user Alpha_Clement managed to defeat Tyranitar using a Primeape with Anger Point ability in just seven turns. Despite both Pokemon having the Ghost Tera type, Rage Fist, Primeape’s move, grows stronger with each hit it takes. Primeape’s Shell Bell enables it to recover from a portion of the damage inflicted, allowing it to persist even after Terastallizing, taking Tyranitar’s Shadow Claw.
Players of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet who missed encountering the powerful Tyranitar will get another opportunity starting on Thursday, April 3rd at 8:00 PM Eastern Time. The exact surprises that await trainers during future Tera Raid battles are yet to be revealed.
