The mobile game, Pokemon GO, has unveiled fresh Adventure Effects for Black Kyurem and White Kyurem. For the very first time, these Unova Legendary variants were seen during the on-site segment of the yearly Pokemon GO Tour – an event that is held each year in celebration before Pokemon Day.

2021’s Pokemon GO Tour focuses on Unova, the locale where Pokemon Black and White are based. Niantic gathered trainers for real-life activities in New Taipei City, Taiwan, and Los Angeles from February 21 to 23. For the very first time in the augmented reality game’s history, they were able to capture a shiny Meloetta via a new Masterwork Research during these events. Now that the in-person events have concluded, the Pokemon GO Tour continues onto its next phase.

Niantic has disclosed that during the Pokemon GO Tour: Unova – Global event, participants in Los Angeles and New Taipei City can utilize unique Adventure Effects as part of the Road to Unova event. By combining Zekrom with a Kyurem capable of using Charged Attack Glaciate, trainers will receive a Black Kyurem that also knows Charged Attack Freeze Shock. With 5,000 Stardust and 5 Kyurem Candy, trainers can activate its Adventure Effect, causing electrically charged ice to emanate from Black Kyurem for a duration of 10 minutes. This effect will cause encountered Pokemon to become paralyzed, making them easier to capture. When the fusion is undone, Freeze Shock will revert back to Glaciate.

Black Kyurem and White Kyurem Have Very Useful Adventure Effects in Pokemon GO

Players can combine Zekrom with a Kyurem that has Charged Attack Glaciate to get a White Kyurem, which knows Charged Attack Ice Burn. Its Adventure Effect takes 5,000 Stardust and 5 Kyurem Candy to activate, causing it to emit chilling energy for 10 minutes. During this time, the target ring in Pokemon encounters will move slower, helping Pokemon GO players make accurate throws and capture new pocket monsters easily. Similar to Black Kyurem, reversing the fusion between Zekrom and Kyurem will change Ice Burn back into Glaciate.

From March 1st to 2nd, 2025, the worldwide segment of the Pokemon GO Tour: Unova is scheduled to occur. During this event, players can capture new Pokemon more easily due to the Adventure Effects of Black Kyurem and White Kyurem. Moreover, by purchasing the Pokemon GO Tour: Unova Tour Pass, they can lengthen the duration of these effects. To achieve this, players must reach specific milestones within the pass, which will increase the effects’ duration by 1.5 times (Tier 2), 2 times (Tier 3), and 3 times (Tier 4).
