A fanatic of Pokémon has devised 5 ideas for Mega Evolutions, inspired by the forthcoming game “Pokémon Legends: Z-A”. These designs draw from established concepts within the Pokémon series, intriguing folklore, real-world occurrences, and most certainly, the artist’s creative mind.
Pokemon Legends: Z-A now introduces Mega Evolutions once again, which many fans are excitedly anticipating. This temporary power-up was initially presented in Pokemon X and Y, but has been scarcely featured in subsequent games within the series. The diverse transformations that Pokemon undergo through Mega Evolution have sparked a wave of creativity among artists, and here’s a sneak peek at five distinct designs I’ve come up with.
Reddit user someguy944 posted artwork featuring Mega Evolutions for five Pokemon: Emboar, Feraligatr, Meganium, Ninetales, and Raticate. The accompanying video explains the characteristics, types, and inspirations behind each Pokemon. For instance, Mega Raticate is modeled after the Rat King phenomenon, where a group of rats’ tails become entangled. In this case, the Mega Raticate combines this concept further by having the spirits of multiple Pokemon fuse together into the Ghost/Normal-type depicted here. The Mega Emboar has its flames expand to such an extent that its bones have been strengthened into metal, resulting in a Fire/Steel-type. Meganium is a dual Grass/Dragon-type, Feraligatr is a Water/Dark-type capable of chewing through steel, and Ninetales, a Fire/Ghost-type, draws its power from human life force to fuel its flames.
Pokemon Fans Excited by Fan Mega Designs
The feedback on someguy944’s artwork and ideas has been overwhelmingly positive, with players highlighting their preferred pieces. The Mega Raticate design stands out as particularly memorable, sparking varied reactions from players due to its fusion with the Rat King phenomenon, ranging from excitement to discomfort over the concept. One fan even expressed that they wished Mega Emboar was Emboar’s base form in the games because of how amazing they found the concept. It appears that all designs have left a lasting impression on fans, even if some are a bit unsettling.
The video game titled “Pokemon Legends: Z-A” is still set for launch in 2025, and enthusiasts are excited about potential new Mega Evolutions being incorporated into the series. Although the specific launch date hasn’t been disclosed yet, Nintendo has shared that the game will be compatible with both the current Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, ensuring that no one is excluded. However, whether these new Mega Evolutions will meet the high expectations of passionate fans remains to be determined.
