Summary
- Some Overwatch 2 maps have exploitable quirks, such as the tree trapping a D.Va player on the Esperanca Push map.
- A funny clip shows a D.Va player trapped behind a tree, needing help from an enemy Reinhardt and a Lifeweaver to escape.
In various imaginative manners, several players have found ways to exploit many maps within Overwatch 2, and unfortunately for one unfortunate D.Va player, a peculiar glitch was discovered on the Push map, Esperanca, where one can get stuck behind a specific tree. This issue wasn’t something new as the map and its game mode were launched alongside Overwatch 2 in 2022. However, such clips demonstrate that players continue to uncover unique map idiosyncrasies long after they’ve been released.
Despite criticism over its monetization strategy, Overwatch 2 has significantly outpaced its predecessor in terms of content delivery. This encompasses an array of cosmetics, maps, and even fresh heroes. For instance, Overwatch 2 unveiled numerous maps in the year 2024, among which two were specifically designed to accommodate the game’s new Clash game mode.
Despite Season 15 of Overwatch 2 offering a wealth of new gameplay content this year, no new maps have been introduced as of yet. However, an amusing video shared by the player French_Taylor showcases an unusual glitch that can trap players indefinitely behind a tree on Esperanca. In the clip, the player managed to trigger this issue while playing baby D.Va by standing behind the tree, situated just beyond one of the bridges near the map’s center, and summoning their mech. Once transformed, they discovered that their character model was too large to escape from behind the tree.
This Overwatch 2 Player Managed to Escape With Help From The Enemy
The video goes on to depict a comical exchange between the character and their adversary Reinhardt, who attempted to liberate D.Va by destroying her mech once more. Luckily, a Lifeweaver managed to utilize their Petal Platform to hoist D.Va aloft, enabling them to flee. While it seems that being trapped in this location has probably been feasible since the map debuted, overall, it’s not a major concern because getting stuck there is rather challenging. However, other tanks within Overwatch 2 and characters with sufficient hitboxes could potentially find themselves stuck in the same predicament if they happen to fall or be pushed there, possibly through abilities like Lifeweaver’s Life Grip or Roadhog’s ultimate.
As a dedicated gamer, I’ve encountered instances where I unintentionally got stuck in some of the maps while playing Overwatch 2. It’s not surprising that Blizzard occasionally makes minor adjustments to certain maps when required. However, this particular clip is a gentle nudge for all D.Va players out there, reminding us to always stay aware of our surroundings before we suit up and dive into the action.
