In honor of the Year of the Raptor and the release of “Into the Emerald Dream”, Hearthstone is offering twelve free card packs through two Twitch Drop campaigns. To claim these packs, simply watch a total of two hours of Hearthstone on Twitch on March 13, followed by an additional six hours between March 18 and 22. This will allow you to greatly expand your collection with lots of free cards!

In a short while, Hearthstone will witness “The Year of the Raptor,” bringing significant updates to its Core set and marking the start of its competitive season on March 25. Simultaneously, the first expansion for this year, titled “Into the Emerald Dream,” launches. This expansion introduces an array of 145 new cards, featuring the Dark Gift and Imbue keywords, colossal Wild God minions, and incorporating the Choose One mechanic into every class.

During the Year of the Raptor and the release of a new expansion, Hearthstone is hosting not just one, but two Twitch Drop events. Fans can grab two packs from the new expansion by watching two hours of Hearthstone on Twitch during the Into the Emerald Dream Theorycrafting event on March 13. Additionally, during the three-day Community Days event starting March 18, watching six more hours will reward players with 10 extra free packs: three from the Year of the Pegasus, three from Hearthstone’s previous set The Great Dark Beyond, and four for Into the Emerald Dream.

How to Get Hearthstone Year of the Raptor Twitch Drops

  • Connect one’s Battle.net and Twitch accounts
  • Watch any streamers in the Hearthstone category on Twitch from March 13 at 9 AM PT through March 14 at 9 AM PT for two hours to earn two Into the Emerald Dream packs
  • Then, watch six hours of streams from March 18 at 10 AM PT through March 22 at 10 AM PT to get 10 additional card packs:
    • 2 hours: 3 Year of the Pegasus packs
    • 4 hours: 3 The Great Dark Beyond packs
    • 6 hours: 4 Into the Emerald Dream packs
  • Once complete, claim the rewards from the Twitch Drops inventory
  • Into the Emerald Dream packs can be opened starting March 18

The Emerald Dream expansion doesn’t launch until March 25, but players can start opening its card packs from March 18 onwards. However, these cards won’t be usable in Standard or Wild decks until the launch. Instead, fans can utilize them during the Pre-Release Tavern Brawl – a week-long mini-competition that lasts until a player gets six wins or three losses. The further you progress, the better the rewards! Each player receives one free entry into this special Tavern Brawl, with subsequent entries costing 2 Tavern Tickets for 300 gold.

March 18 marks a significant update for cards persisting in Standard during the Year of the Raptor, including adjustments and modifications for those transitioning to Wild. It’s safe to say that playing Hearthstone in 2025 is going to be an exhilarating experience!
