In a recent announcement, Pokemon GO confirmed that more wild Pokemon will start appearing more frequently in the game. This update aims to satisfy long-standing requests from players who have been urging the developers of Pokemon GO for years to make it easier to find these pocket monsters.
As a Pokemon GO gamer myself, I can’t help but notice that one of the core aspects of this game is stumbling upon new Pokemon in the real world. However, these creatures don’t seem to pop up as frequently as I’d hope. This issue seems to resonate with many players, particularly those living in rural areas who feel a bit left out by the developers. The desire for more frequent wild spawns is a common complaint, not just among rural gamers, but among us all. We’re yearning for a gameplay experience that aligns more closely with the original concept: the thrill of discovering new critters in the wild.
Niantic has answered a frequent demand from the community by announcing that they will boost the number of wild encounters in ‘Pokemon GO’. As per their statement, Pokemon are expected to show up more frequently in rural areas, densely populated urban centers, suburban neighborhoods, and rapidly expanding locations. The developers anticipate a rise in spawns and the number of places where creatures can be found. They plan to roll out this update prior to the ‘Pokemon GO Tour: Unova’, though they haven’t specified an exact release date for the update yet.
Pokemon GO Starts 2025 Revealing Important Changes
The announcement for the Road to Unova event also hinted at an upcoming aesthetic modification in the Pokedex within Pokemon GO. This update aims to make it simpler for players to distinguish which Pokemon they’ve already captured, as well as those yet to be found. Previews of this revamped Pokedex have been noticed during the trailer for Pokemon GO‘s Dual Destiny season. The trailer depicted a screen that separates pocket monsters by their originating region, displays the number of captured Pokemon from each region, and shows the total count of Pokemon in the player’s Pokedex.
Despite not specifying the exact date when Pokemon wild encounters will escalate, this announcement brings cheerful news for Pokemon GO players. Given that there are already several exciting events lined up or ongoing in the coming weeks, it’s an excellent timing indeed. The upcoming events include the premiere of Dynamax Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres, available until February. Additionally, Pokemon GO Tour: Unova is on its way, while the Lunar New Year event will run from January 29 to February 2. Other events scheduled for February with undisclosed details are Small Yet Strong, Beloved Buddies, and Community Day.
