A passionate fan of Pokemon recently shared pictures of a custom-made Charjabug carpet on social media, complete with comparison shots and surrounding items to show its size. Fellow trainers praised the craftsmanship, while some creatively nicknamed it a “Charjarug,” combining the names of both the character and rug.

In the realm of gaming, I’m a Charjabug, the Pokedex refers to me as the Battery Pokemon. I made my debut in Pokemon Sun and Moon. Once my Grubbin form evolves at level 20, I transform into Vikavolt, but that’s not all! I can also evolve with a Thunder Stone or through leveling up in a powerful magnetic field. What makes me special among the Pokemon bunch is my dual Bug and Electric types, a rare combination indeed within the Pokemon series.

Although Vikavolt may be stronger, when equipped with an Eviolite, I can boost my defenses and physical attack stats by a whopping 50%. Pair that with moves like X-Scissor, Spark, and Crunch, and you’ve got a Pokemon ready to shine in some challenging Tera Raid and Double Battle scenarios in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Despite being frequently spotted in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Charjabug isn’t typically chosen as an art subject. However, r/Pokemon member Jrkathan contested this idea by creating a handmade Charjabug rug. This rug was meticulously crafted using green, black, and brown tufting yarn, mimicking the official depictions of Charjabug. The eyes were made with blue and white yarn, while gray yarn was utilized for its mouth. Darker shades of green and brown yarn were employed to give a shadowy effect to Charjabug’s pincers, legs, and lower body. Designed to fit comfortably in most rooms, Jrkathan shared photos of the rug near a mirror and a bookshelf for comparison purposes. Interestingly, Jrkathan, who goes by JayTufting on Instagram, claimed that he was unaware of Charjabug’s existence until he crafted the rug for a commission.

Jrkathan explained he runs his business through Instagram, emphasizing that precision and perseverance are crucial in crafting hand-made rugs. This caught the attention of Pokemon trainers, who admired his Charjabug rug creation. Some even referred to it as a “Charjarug,” combining the Pokemon’s name with its transformed form. Others playfully questioned if the Charjabug rug might create static, pointing out its Bug and Electric types as possible causes.

As a die-hard Pokémon fan, I recently came across Jrkathan’s post at a bustling time, with excitement swirling around the upcoming Pokémon Day on February 27th and the highly anticipated release of Pokémon Legends: Z-A. The mystery still lingers whether our beloved Charjabug will make an appearance in future installments of this legendary franchise.
